No thief needed?
And did a past thief leave behind any thieves tools??

I find that thieves aren't really so great until like 9th level due to bad stating on the part of the original DND designers. Such a miniscule chance of success on any given skill... Fighters and dwarves however hold the line so the archers can finish everyone off.

But don't let me influence you, play whatever sounds fun!

Yeah, thieves are a tough start.
I could have a thief or Halfling with 18 dex.
So I guess lack of thief abilities isn't something anyone is losing sleep over?.

I feel like we might start seeing things where we'd really want a thief, but as we've mostly stuck to the well-traveled/explored first level so far, we haven't run into any of that yet.

How is retrieval of arrows, quarrels, and sling ammo being handled?

Depending on how you read it, dwarves are better thieves than thieves with their find traps in stonework feature!

Generally, if the situation suggests that it would be possible to recover an arrow (e.g. if you were firing in a reasonably constrained space, or it's sticking out of an orc), then I'll let you retrieve it. But there is a 1-in-6 chance that any arrow fired is broken or lost.

There is a fletcher in the kobold market in Stonehell that sells arrows and bolts, so there is a source of resupply.

Real quick aside on our (wonderful) conundrum, the face-off with the kobolds, goblins, wolves, and us:

The goblins are trying to steal the kobolds' supplies.
in terms of numbers, we have exactly even odds...IF we can count on the kobolds to fight with us to defend their stuff. The wolves are tougher than the goblins, and there are two burly goblins, which still keeps it roughly even. So we could fight, but some of us would get hurt or killed.

But if we leave without fighting, then the kobolds will bear witness to everyone that we capitulated, which will not go well for us with the Ghost Beggars. That won't happen if we leave and then slaughter the kobolds, but that risks turning the kobolds and all the other factions against us. That doesn't seem worth the risk, to me.

So what do you think we should do?

If it comes down to fight or flee, what's your vote? Public

Fight the goblins
Give up and leave

I'm not really in favor of fighting in a kill box, we could pull back outside the room and start sniping the goblins, using the doorway as a choke point. A well placed sleep spell would thin the herd...

Or we could just split, not a lot of experience points in goblins.

I mean, the only one in the room right now is Pickles. He might be able to make it out of there to join the rest of us in the hallway, whereupon Gabbro could cast Sleep.

Pickles the little psycho says let’s fight!

I like Dominion’s plan, Pickles will run back towards you as quickly as his little legs can carry him. Then he’ll rain death upon the Goblins (maybe a kobold or two as well).

Pickles pulling out and Gabbro casting sleep sounds like a good plan to me. Let us go for it then.
