[OOC] General chat

Welcome to the game! This thread is for all your general OOC chit-chat needs. There's a separate subforum where I've put rules posts, and you can ask rules questions there if you like, but you can also ask them here. I won't be handing out full copies of the rules, but I will provide character-centric rules for everyone's chosen class if you need them (that'll be post-funnel, of course). If you've never played DCC before, you can check out the free quick-start rules here: DCC Starter Rules. Umerica doesn't really change the rules, except for armor (see the rules subforums) and some of the tables. It also adds a bunch of new classes that each have their own rules, of course.

As a heads up, it's been a while since I've run a PbP game, so things may be a little clunky at first.

Things will probably get off to a slow start. Our household celebrates Christmas, so there's a lot going on this coming week. But we can go ahead and start chatting and getting fodder characters together. I'll do some session zero stuff over the next few days. Once that, and the holidays, are out of the way. We'll get gaming!

I've played only one DCC game before (a funny little funnel one shot that was) so I guess I'll check the quickstart rules. And there's the character creation somewhere.....

Hello everyone! I have always wanted to try DCC and what better chance than this? I love lethal games, but DCC is well known for it's hilariously dangerous funnels. Let's make it to the end everyone!

Hello, thanks for having me! I'll be slow for a while as well due to the holidays, but things should start getting back to normal in January.

At my first DCC funnel there were 6 players, each with 4 characters. If I remember correctly my last character was the only one to make out of the dungeon. One other character was still alive but was stuck in a narrow tunnel for the rest of his days.

Has everyone done what they want to do with their characters before starting (buying gear and what not)? Are we ready to get started? I'll plan to make first post on Wednesday, unless someone asks me to delay.

I think I am more or less done with character creation. Can you check it? Also, do we get any starting money or is the gear roll all we have?

I'll try and get to the equipment as soon as possible! Otherwise I think I'm good to go.

I've been out of town for the past week and a half. Just getting caught up on things now. I should have time tomorrow morning to finish my characters and create a profile for them, at which point I'll be ready. Thanks for your patience. :)

No problem. I just got on to let folks know that I'm not quite ready because I got sick for a few days between Christmas and New Years. Hopefully everything can get going in the next day or two.

Submitted my characters, will create art for them later but otherwise good to go.

Will do that and submit my first turn today, just got back from vacation last night. Looking forward to the game!
