2. The First Delve

Pickles blinks and a flurry of blades, hammer and arrows strike at the giant insects. The plucky Halfling releases an arrow at any remaining centipede . . .

Chamber of the Jungles
Johann stands with his mouth agape at the ruthless efficiency with which the Hellions deal with the giant centipedes. Every single attack finds its mark and, in the blink of an eye, the centipedes are little more than a bloody pulp on the floor of the Jungle Chamber. "Do you also do that to orcs?" the gnome asks, only half-jokingly.

Those who fired arrows may recover them, with a 1-in-6 chance they are lost or broken.

Chamber of the Jungles
It’s not a particularly pleasant task, sifting through the foul detritus that formerly housed the centipedes. But the source of the glint that caught your eye previously is a particularly fine-looking arrow. In Bob’s hands, it feels remarkably well-crafted and balanced, with a razor-sharp tip and pristine flights. Indeed, a little more rummaging reveals two more such arrows, to make a total of three.

"Better give them to someone who can afford it," At their blank expressions, Gabbro explains: "I didn't part on the best of terms with my family, so they didn't provide me with riches to start my adventuring career. One of my ambitions is to someday be able to afford a bow."

Luther will pick the lantern back up. "Shall we proceed?"

"I'd give some of them arrows to Pickle, lethal with a bow that one is."

At Luther's prompting, Ricard makes ready to move on.

Pickles eyes sparkle as the Apprentice produces the arrows, and a broad smile as he offers them up. "I would love one and happy to trade a silver arrow?"

"Hey Pickles, does Johann have any idea where these guys are based?"

Pickles produces a silver arrow holding it out for the exchange, he then smiles at Luther. "I think you’ve got as much chance of an answer as I, seeing as his jaw is still hanging open at the efficiency we just dispatched those bugs."

Gabbro quirks an eyebrow at Luther. "Which way do you want to proceed? We've got to lift a gate to go in any direction." He considers his memory of what the party has explored so far. "I'd say west or south, myself. East should take us back to the Audience chamber or some place else we've been already."

"When in doubt, always go left, or so I've been told," Jessica offers.

"Left sounds good to me."

Gabbro laughs. "We've just come from there" he points behind them, to the north. "...so the left is there." He points to their left, which is east, back toward the areas they've explored and, ultimately, Kobold Korners.

Then, realizing that they were looking over his shoulder, Gabbro hangs his head sheepishly. "Oh. You were looking at the map. Not left for US, left on the MAP. Very good. I get it now." Gabbro hurriedly puts the map away, moves to the western portcullis, and attempts to lift it.

Ricard shrugs and moves to help lift the gate.

Luther willset the lantern down and give a hand. As he walks over he will ask Johann"Do you know where the goblins hang out?"
