Luther is keen on the fight.

In a blur of movement another arrow is drawn in the Halfling’s Bow, a wicked smile on his lips . . .

let's do this
Mar 28, 2025 5:06 am
OOC:
Gabbro has already cast his spell and has no further spells to cast. The only other spellcaster is Luther.

With three melee combatants between the rest of us and the wolves, I am reluctant to have Gabbro use his sling, given the likelihood that we will hit our friends rather than the enemy. We haven't dealt any friendly-fire damage yet, but that's in large part because the DM confirmed that it can happen way back in our very first combat encounter and we've been very careful ever since.

Three-way Fight - Round 2 (continued)
No spells, no melee movement, so someone please roll the Hellions' initiative for round 2 ...

Day 3, 10:40 pm
Bob, Thief 1: 4/4
Gabbro, Elf 1: 4/7
Jessica, Cleric 1: 5/5
Luther, Cleric 2: 9/9 (Lantern)
Pickles, Halfling 2: 10/10

Rolls

Wolves' initiative for round 2 - (1d6)

(4) = 4

Mar 28, 2025 4:04 pm
Luther will square up with the wolves as best he can with shield and mace at the ready.

Rolls

initiative - (1d6)

(5) = 5

Mar 28, 2025 4:51 pm
Jessica stands beside Luther, shield raised and warhammer at the ready.
Mar 28, 2025 5:04 pm
Ricard again hacks at the wolf wounded by the halfling's arrow in an attempt to thin the heard...
OOC:
raaagh!

Rolls

Attack, Damage - (1d20+2, 1d8+2)

1d20+2 : (3) + 2 = 5

1d8+2 : (6) + 2 = 8

Mar 28, 2025 6:59 pm
Luther will take this time to swing at the wolf closest to him. The wolf was able to avoid the blow. Luther will reset bringing his shield back up trying to keep the wolves in front so the can't hamstring him.

Rolls

to hit, damage - (1d20+1, 1d6+1)

1d20+1 : (6) + 1 = 7

Mar 29, 2025 12:18 am
Pickles shuffles slightly as he draws the string of his bow back, focusing on the wolf he had wounded earlier. His breathing slows, his heart beats slow, and the whirl of action slows around him as the arrow is released . . .
OOC:
16 hits ac 0 and above.

This is correct. Jessica, Luther and Ricard are all standing between the rest of the party and the two wolves, obscuring the targets. Therefore, I will say that any missile fire will be at -2 to hit, with a risk of hitting a party member if you miss. I know Pickles is relaxed about such matters, but Johann is less confident in his abilities and will hold fire.

Both Jessica and Pickles inflict further damage upon the already injured wolf, but it fights on. If anything, it’s madder than ever!

Waiting for Gabbro and Bob to complete the Hellion’s actions this round.

If Gabbro can move around in the room to reach a place where he can make a close-range attack, he will try to finish off the wounded wolf with Fenwick's spear. If not, he'll remain where he is, with sling ready.

Rolls

Spear attack, damage - (1d20, 1d6)

1d20 : (11) = 11

1d6 : (1) = 1

Three-way Fight - Round 2 (continued)
I fear Bob may have joined the ranks of the missing. I haven’t heard from NJW, but it’s getting on for a couple of weeks since they last posted. We’ll carry on without them for now.

Gabbro concludes the Hellion’s round by joining the melee and missing (just) with his spear.

It’s the wolves’ turn to attack, I’ll roll randomly for which Hellion each of them attempts to bite (1 = Gabbro, 2 = Jessica, 3 = Luther, 4 = Ricard)

1d6 : (5) = 5

Wolf 2 (target, to-hit, damage) - (1d4, 1d20, 1d6)

1d4 : (3) = 3

1d20 : (18) = 18

1d6 : (3) = 3

Three-way Fight - Round 2 (continued)
The wolves’ attacks are savage.

The uninjured one wraps its jaws around Luther’s mace arm, drawing blood as the sharp teeth press through the cleric’s armour and into his flesh.

The other wolf, worked up into a frenzy by the damage already inflicted upon it, leaps upwards at Jessica and sinks its fangs into her throat. It’s a sickening attack, and she falls to the ground lifeless as her blood pools on the floor of the animal pen.
