2. The First Delve

Horath offers no advice, merely a dubious look.

Gabbro shrugs and nods. It seems fine to him. Everything we've paid so far has been in copper; it's the standard denomination...and the reality is that the kobolds are paying us to do something we've already done. It's gravy, not something worth pushing our luck.

Ricard nods to the kobolds leader,

"200 copper, we have a deal."

Luther is also fine with easy money.

Pickles turns slowly to leave giving Ricard a wink as he does. The Halfling then makes his way out of the warehouse, making sure he gives the young Kobold a wave and flicks her a copper piece.

Trade Goods Storage
Trustee Sniv spits on his scaly hand, shakes Ricard’s, and waddles off westwards.

The remaining kobolds look on, awestruck at your bravery.

Once we leave, only when we're in the hustle and bustle of the market crowd, Gabbro will say in a low voice "So what do you think: we leave and return the goods to the kobolds first, then check in with the Beggars...?" He looks around casually, trying to see if they're being observed by any more Ghost Beggar spies.

Then another thought occurs to him: "Or do we leave for a bit, make sure the stuff is still there, then return and just tell Shiv where to find the goods?"

Ricard answers in a whisper,

"It's getting complicated. Easier to just give the kobolds the half we set aside for the beggars and go on with our exploration. That said, we could play both sides and give the beggars the other half we stashed in the chapel. Either way, we come out ahead."

Luther will nod"I think the Sniv would rather have half then nothing."

As they move away into the quiet night streets of Korner Pickles spring is back in his step, "Well that was fun, and we’ll make some money." He says not quite in a whisper, more of a gleeful yelp. "The hour is late, but best we deliver the half we have on hand and return for some sleep."

Pickles the turns around and holts his companions by standing in front of them. The his something wild about his eyes as he speaks. "Then we return to the goblins secret door for revenge."

"Or we could just kill the kobolds and the goblins and keep everything," Horath suggests. Seeing the appalled looks from the party, he shrugs. "Just a thought."

Remember, it's currently around 1 o'clock in the morning. The market is currently very quiet. All the stalls are closed. Other than the odd kobold and the bugbear guards, there's no one else around, including any Ghost Beggars.

"We could go back to the site of the slaughter and collect the goblins ears as proof that the job is done..."

Pickles skips back around Ricard, "That sounds a great idea, Ricard. Let’s get some ears then bring them back with the food. I would like to go through that secret door, but that can wait."

Kobold Market
Can I take that as the plan then? To return to the site of the battle with the goblins?

If so, are you going to retrace your steps along the most southerly route to avoid the portcullised rooms? Or will you take a different path?

Sounds like a good plan to me. I would say avoid if we are going to bring back the supplies we stashed in the storage room.
