This part, until you meet Madam Eva, should be the only railroading spot.
Once we pass that point, the campaign will open up and become more sandboxed.
We just need to get to Madam Eva :)

I'm fine with being railroaded honestly. PbP doesn't really lend itself too well to sandboxes in my experience.

I kind of agree. I don’t feel like an idiot for not knowing what to do next when the DM tells me where to go. :D

If you're putting it to a vote, I'd vote to just get there. PbP takes long enough as it is with one post a day. If we're roleplaying each scene, that's 4 days spent basically just traveling and sightseeing.

Is the old man traveling in the same wagon as us? I'm really not sure how to react here. Me as a player wants to just get us to our destination, but surely the character would be concerned.

I think there’s value in giving the characters a chance to suss out things that may be pertinent to their understanding of their situation … but I also agree that PbP can be slow moving and I wouldn’t want to get too hung up on travel sequences that are purely space filler. While a realtime game benefits from those moments for character and party development, I feel like in PbP it can postpone the plot progress, puzzles, and general party shenanigans.

Ok. Here is the problem:
If I were to rush to Madam Eva, there are a handful of things the party might miss.
Like in this scene here. I do not know what your character would do.
Would you just hunker up and stay in Wagon?
Would you jump out, try, and find your way?
Would you attack the travelers and steal the wagons?

I don't want to just handwave things and assume what your character would do.
There will be some different situations your character's have never seen or dealt with before.


Now I am all for speeding things up. But I feel like if we do, stuff might be missed.
Is anyone able to post more often to get through this faster?

Okay, I just edited Ashtar’s last post to add a bit at the end, asking Stanimir what the fog is about.

I can certainly post a lot more, though weekends are often tough.

I'm so sorry I've been gone a few days! I've had no ability to play and no power and I'm back now and imma catch up and get with it again! :)

And I'm fine with going slow or rushing ahead. I see the pros and cons of both.
