As the others study the panel Khadi gives a quick glance over the cultists bodies for anything that may be useful before her eyes are drawn to the chained up zombies. Her hand goes to the dagger at her belt. They couldn't just be left.

Then ones lunges again and sense returns to her. Best ask the others who actually know how to do such things without getting hurt.

'Once we have the dork open, perhaps we can end these creaures? Let their souls move on?'

"I agree, Khadi. They cannot be allowed to languish here - it is affront to the sanctity of life and death itself."

He gestures to the altar, "Something is very wrong with this. It has been corrupted."

He considers and on a whim sets his bag down and pulls out a bottle of holy water. He whispers a prayer to Horus and pours its contents over the altar. "May this unfortunate corruption be dissipated, at least in time."

Examining it, Tabat and Khadi know that's he's on the right track. The large, heavy seal can be easily pried from the altar, and soaking it in the holy water will reverse the taint of negative energy and restore the seal to its original appearance.

After you do so, and return the restored seal to the altar it immediately reinstates the chamber’s consecrate effect and destroys any zombies remaining in the room.

They crumple to the ground in their chains

"Well, that took care of that issues," Tabat says, looking around the room in satisfaction. "Now, perhaps, we shall see what's behind this door you found, Iseret."

A hidden panel conceals a Shepses family heirloom, a caster’s shield engraved with the image of a phoenix and whippoorwills taking flight. The shield has already been inscribed with an owl’s wisdom spell.
Jan 20, 2024 6:45 am
Tabat takes up the shield and looks it over. He turns to Khadi and extends it. "Perhaps this might be a great boon for our warrior priestess of Khepri," he suggests.

'As flattered as I am I think that will make my arm fall off after 10 minutes. Khepri will have my back anyway' Khadi s#jokes as she looks over the shield. 'There are likely others that could make better use, we could see if the temple of Pharasma has interest in acquiring it.'
OOC:
Khadi lose classes features if she puts on a shield or armour :P Downside of the archetype.

Tabat nods. He slings the shield onto his back, "They may very well find it of use. Let's continue our search, then."

The paladin heads to the doors to the north, Andromeda closeby, and opens one of them slowly to look beyond.

Statues of female figures clothed in spidery robes and masks stand with arms outstretched at either end of this wide, short hall. The tiled floor is a detailed mosaic starscape.

Iseret finds a 10-foot-square pressure plate in front of the hallway’s northern doors.

"The floor mosaic depicts several constellations, with a pathway of stars—representing the River of Souls— winding between them."

Tabat knows that the statues depict morrigna psychopomps, the investigators and bounty hunters of the afterlife

"I'm not sure what it does, but I think that stepping on the plate would be a bad thing."

OOC:
Updated the handout for the new map.
Iseret can mark off the edges of the pressure plate.

OOC:
Basically where the Q3 is, yeah?
"Can you disable it, Iseret? If not, we might be able to force it to trigger it safely." He thinks of the plentiful corpses in the last room - while detesting the thought, the weight of one or more of them might do the trick.

Tabat will inspect the statues more closely, as they are of interest to him.

"There is still the matter of the cultist leader from the last fight - they turned invisible and are likely hiding...anywhere nearby."
OOC:
Were the doors back closed? Would we have noticed if the enemy had retreated out of the room where we fought them?

OOC:
Where Q3 is yes.

The doors weren't closed, and she could have run back up the stairs, or be lingering.

Iseret will try to disable the pressure plate without setting it off.

There is a great rumbling and you ask dive for the doors the way you came, just as the roof collapsed and a huge amount of rubble fills the area.
OOC:
I'm not positive that hits. AC17, +1 vs traps=18. Anything else you have to squeeze out +1 more AC?

Rolls

Attack roll vs Isret - (1d20+15, 6d6)

1d20+15 : (3) + 15 = 18

OOC:
Afraid not. I wish...
Jan 22, 2024 6:28 pm
OOC:
The only thing I could come up with is 'aid another' during combat can give +2 to AC but it looks like that is based on the conceit that the person aiding is distracting the enemy in some way - we'll get you healed up though!
Tabat rushes to grab Iseret, but the rubble falls atop his friend. He start pulling at the debris. "Iseret! Dammit! Where are you!?" Finding the halfling's hand, he clears the rubble further with the help of the others and extracts the battered figure.
Jan 22, 2024 6:39 pm
OOC:
A difficult trap to avoid once it's gone off, but that natural 1 demanded drama!
Once the trap is triggered, 2,000 pounds of fallen rubble block the doors to the north. A character can remove an amount of rubble equal to five times her heavy load in 1 minute. Using digging tools doubles this amount.
Jan 22, 2024 8:39 pm
Tabat places his hands upon Iseret, forcing healing energy into his friend with a prayer to Horus.
OOC:
One use of Lay on Hands - @WhtKnt where does this leave you on health?

Once he confirms his friend is okay, he takes out his crowbar and sets to work digging the rubble.
OOC:
Heavy Load max is 350lbs, not sure if the crowbar counts as a 'digging tool', but it looks like it might take Tabat ~6-7 minutes to dig this out?

Rolls

Lay on Hands - (4d6)

As Tabat pulls Iseret out Khadi rushes to their side her hands already glowing with planar energy as she looks other Iseret's wounds.
