'So who wants to look behind the curtains?' The duskwalker asks, notable not moving towards any of them.
Feb 20, 2024 12:51 am
"Typical of a burial site now, but this place remains a strange amalgamation of ancient and modern religions."

He walks to the nearest of the curtains and extends the handle of his flail. "Allow me," he says, using the weapon to pull the curtain to the side.

OOC:
The 'nearest'. So unhelpful.
Examining the first on the east side beside the northern doors you just entered, you find a small chapel for private prayer and communion.
Feb 21, 2024 10:17 am
OOC:
Hey now lol I wasn't sure how to approach that. I'll be more specific.
"Interesting," Tabat says, "I wonder if these are all shrines of sorts - a room for prayers perhaps." He continue a circuit of the room in clockwise order from where they entered, moving next to the curtain to his right and similarly checking behind the curtain there.

Seven of the curtains hide alcoves like the first one, and three hide passages to other rooms, but more immediately important, in the southeast one hides a creature!

Feb 22, 2024 4:46 pm
Iseret's magic sword bypasses the creatures hardened undead exterior, and damages it well.

The creature, seeing that he's confronted by armed and ready adventurers attacks Tabat first, hoping to tear down the armored warrior before his defenses are fully up. He vanishes, appears behind Tabat instantly, and attacks twice.

Fear aura, DC 16 save or be Frightened for 1d4 turns. Add +4 to your save for Tabat's own Aura of Courage.

All of you are up.

Rolls

Move to Tabat then Claw attack - (1d20+10, 1d8+4, 1d20+10, 1d8+4)

1d8+4 : (8) + 4 = 12

Tabat grits his teeth and throws himself at the creature before him, swinging twice with his heavy flail. "You shall not have me, creature!"

Andromeda, her courage fleeing her, turns and bolts.
OOC:
Full Attack w/ Risky Strike; +1 damage per roll if this is an undead creature.

Swift Action for Lay on Hands, self. He lost 12hp, gained 14 for a net increase of 2hp.

EDIT: woops, fixing that second roll :|

OOC:
AC 19, so both hit. Bludgeoning bypasses DR, so 28 more damage, for a total of 42. With Khadi's channeling, even if it makes it's save it takes 12 or 24 more, and 12 is enough to kill it. You lot are mighty effective against undead.
Waves of power batter at the fiend from Khadi's symbol, her god's power battering it, even as Tabat unleashes his own fervor upon it. The fiend is battered and bashed to pieces before it realizes how much trouble it is in.

Jaware lowers his bow, watching your backs for another threat that doesn't come.

Combat is over.
Feb 24, 2024 7:23 pm
'Well that was rude of it.' Khadi lowers her symbol a grin on her face. 'We;'re becoming good at thins.' She winks at Tabat Do we need to go calm Andromeda?'
Feb 25, 2024 1:39 am
[ +- ] Andromeda not impressed
Feb 26, 2024 3:18 am
Iseret nods at Khadi's observation, but keeps her short sword bared.
Feb 26, 2024 5:34 am
Tabat nods and heads off after the camel. "Hey girl," he says, reaching her and trying to calm her down.

Rolls

Tabat Menes: Handle Animal (Cha) - (1d20+7)

(3) + 7 = 10

Feb 26, 2024 6:40 pm
You'll eventually get the camel calmed, and can continue as you will. There is nothing of value in this room, but four unexplored exits.
Feb 26, 2024 7:39 pm
Now that Andromeda is called down, Tabat heads to the north-west hall to explore the room in that direction, while asking Iseret to keep any eye peeled for traps along the way if willing.

Carvings of somber women and vulture-headed angels adorn the walls of this chamber, and the smell of cedar, onions, and myrrh is overwhelming. Viscous amber fluids fill glass reservoirs, while stone bins of sand, sawdust, and salt crowd the floor. Hooks, knives, and other grisly-looking tools are neatly stored on several worktables along the walls.

Naghut
An undead creature within sees you enter, and charges, her anger and hatred profound.

She rushes Iseret and snaps with her unclean teeth before you can prepare yourselves adequately.
OOC:
Iseret has Uncanny Dodge and cannot be caught flat-footed otherwise that terrible roll would have hit. Instead, all of you are up in whatever order you post

Rolls

Initiative: Iseret +4, Jaware +6, Khadi +0, Tabat +1, Foes +? - (1d20+4, 1d20+6, 1d20, 1d20+1, 1d20+5)

1d20+4 : (6) + 4 = 10

1d20+6 : (4) + 6 = 10

1d20 : (9) = 9

1d20+1 : (6) + 1 = 7

1d20+5 : (12) + 5 = 17

Bite attack - (1d20+13, 1d8+7)

1d20+13 : (3) + 13 = 16

1d8+7 : (6) + 7 = 13

OOC:
When all you have is a hammer....
'Undead fiend. Khepri lets send her on! Khadi releases her usual wave on energy.

Rolls

Khadi: Channel DC17 - Damage - (3d6+10)

(545) + 10 = 24

Mar 2, 2024 4:40 pm
Iseret reacts with the speed and ease of a trained professional, ducking under the fiend's attack and responding with a thrust of her own.

Rolls

Shortsword vs. Naghut - (1d20+9, 1d4+5)

1d20+9 : (5) + 9 = 14

1d4+5 : (2) + 5 = 7

Mar 2, 2024 4:48 pm
Those entering range risk being sickened from the stench, the overwhelming stink of death and corruption in a 10-foot radius. Those within the stench must succeed at a DC 17 Fortitude save, or be sickened for 1d6+4 minutes.
OOC:
It takes 12 damage from Khadi's channeling.

Rolls

Resist channeling - (1d20+13)

(20) + 13 = 33
