Use this section to have any conversations with me that you want only me to see, such as talking about backstory elements or suggestions you may have for relationship die results.

Feel free to ask any character creation questions here if they don't need to be seen by other players.

You're character looks good, though I think you only took 2 feats when, at 2nd level as a human, you should have 3.

Also, do you have any backstory, or any plot hooks you want me to know about? So far all I can tell is:
- You survived an orcish assault on Greywall as the only survivor
- You hate the orc lord (hence fighting his army at greywall, but anything more personal or just "orcs are evil and destroy so they are evil"?)
- You have a conflicted relationship with the emperor (did he not send reinforcements to Greywall and you hold it against him, but he is still your emperor, hense conflicted?)

On an unrelated note, interesting you are trying the archer fighter. I noticed that was possible but also that it was disappointing as you must use strength for melee and dexterity for ranged (no dexterity melee option I can see) and there always seems to be less archer options than there are options to make, so eventually you have to choose some melee options. I hope you like it. If you really want, you can see if there are similar things on other classes and take 1 thing from something non-fighter, like a ranger talent if you only took one because you ran out of archery fighter options

Other way round really. She hates the orcs because of what they did at Greywall. Not to put too fine a point on it, if there's anyone living there now they are certainly not the same ones that lived there then, because all those people are dead and eaten. The conflicted relationship you have exactly right. She knows he's got to make hard calls, but were there really no extra men he could have seen, even just to help them evacuate? All this happened by the way a LONG time ago. She's maybe... seventy now, and she would have fought when she was twenty or thirty. She's really just looking for a way to go out in a way that means something instead of lying in bed.

If I were to ask for any modifications, it would be to stuff inside Fighter. I want to push this class one last time before we get 2e.

I'm also supposed to have 4 maneuvers at 2nd level, so I know what to grab.

okay, all ready.

Sorry for the post being super-short, wasn't sure if you'd prefer me to post probable finds, also not sure of the DC here. In some other games that use the standard DCs (or that give the DC prior to checks) I'd have her point at something and be like, 'what about this?' maybe this is the way they went, but wasn't sure if that was your style or not.

I'm figuring out my flow on PbP. I normally give the DCs when I run my D&D 5e games, so that the player knows they failed or succeeded as soon as they see the result of their own roll, but keep AC and such secret in combat until it is pretty clear the players have figured it out.

All good? Your turn in combat

Just to make sure I'm not more confused than necessary! Did we not wait for Edgar after all, or did Hrafe retcon his turn and we're still waiting? Don't want to be the last one we're waiting on.

He has a magic weapon that triggers on his knocking a target to 0 hp or staggers them. His blow staggered the human, so he got to attack again. The ability is on a recharge 11+

Chapter 1 was the example adventure in the core book, and Hrafe was given Glaezentorg

I used the dire bear stats, but described him more as a double strength medium human rather than a large beast. His "dire trait" was dealing double his level in damage on a miss while staggered.

I think he would have been fine as a solo boss, but I think I should have made him take 1 or 2 rounds longer to join the fight. I have found though that as long as players don't throw up their hands and get made when things like this happen, sometimes my mistakes as a GM can add drama that would otherwise never have been there. I almost TPKed a group in d&d because I had the boss cast a spell that hit all PCs and 2 got crit but then I turned it into a monologue moment since the enemy didn't want to kill the players but make a point to one of them (who luckily was not crit)

Oh yeah, I wouldn't call it a mistake. We had a chance to beat him. That crit just sort of ended things early, and that happens sometimes! The 13A encounter rules do tend to give you fights that are not quite as hard as I'd like them to be anyway when I'm GMing. So I tend to stack them a bit myself.

Just to confirm, who does Ylliane worry will recognize her in fort triumph and why?

She's not exactly popular with the military since she railed against their incompetence publicly in the official investigation into the fall of Greywall.
