As much as a heroic exit would be fun, I think it just makes more sense for her to venture off in order to protect Zin's identity. Slightly more selfish for the sisters, but will lead to Zin being less sad face about being left behind. I think Eir would trust the rest to keep an eye on Zin. Zin would be sad for a bit, but she would also understand that they are separating for good reason. It was always part of the unseen backstory that Eir is in communication with the family back home, so I think if they sent message that they had a lead, she would instinctively want to ensure it wasn't a good one and would feel compelled to head home and take command of the searching task force in order to make it fail. The fact that Eir isn't oath bound still works since she is able to step away and Zin can't. It would be a tough call, but a necessary one and narratively it makes sense.

Just sharing that I am traveling for work this week so my responses may be delayed a bit until after I get back home on Thursday. I think we're in a bit of a chapter changeover lull anyway so it may not be much of an issue.

I'm back and will be posting shortly (as long as my PC plays along - it's been restarting itself periodically).

Just an FYI, my mom moved in last week and it's been a struggle caring for her. It feels like we're getting into a groove now but there are days I completely forget to do anything until bed time. Then I'm so tired I say f - it and just go to sleep. So, if I fall behind, feel free to make a chk roll or save for me.

I just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone. Without getting too personal, I have had a lot going on and had to step away. @spaceseeker19 was gracious enough to let me join again, but I wanted to have a character with my own story and a fresh start. So hello to you all again, and I am very excited to play with everyone once more!

Thank you for letting us know. I sympathize, as I had my dad living with us for a few years. I'm glad that you are able to host your mom, and completely understand how much energy and focus it takes.

I've only just returned from my trip and wrapped up Eir's exit; I'll be posting the introduction to the next part later today or tomorrow morning. So you haven't missed much!

Oops! I just realized that, while I was handing out the Achievements, I forgot to update the Campaign Tracker with the part four summary and Boon. I've also put the information in the "Powers, Abilities, and Animals" handout.

Are we still at level 4 even though we're in Part 5 now?

Also, why did Eir leave? I thought it was because idylliceffie was dealing with stuff, but I see a new character in there? No issues, I'm just curious.

She was handling personal stuff and is in a place now where she can rejoin, but the task of playing a character she had not created from the outset was understandably challenging. In addition to trying to learn all of the party members and campaign, she was trying to play a character she did not create and therefore did not know inherently. She and I talked about it quite a bit and I completely understand that Eir never really felt right to her. It will be far easier for her to play a character she made and knows completely as opposed to messaging me to be like "Hey, would Eir and Zin...." Autonomy!

My family stuff is still not the best, but I'm in a place where I can play again, and @spaceseeker19 was gracious enough to let me join! But trying to play a character I didn't create, and look up everything I should know, and what kind of connections I would have with y'all while I was away, felt overwhelming! Now I have a character where I created her backstory and know how she would act and feel. Aaaaand one that y'all will hopefully get along with lmao!
