Shade, cool and composed, met Ariel's enthusiastic approach with a raised eyebrow and a subtle half-smile. "Ariel Aurea, the pleasure is mine," he acknowledged, nodding. As Ariel animatedly mentioned his piloting skills, Shade's gaze remained fixed, his demeanor businesslike.

"Work before play, my friend," Shade replied, his voice low and measured. He leaned in slightly, the ambient light reflecting off the subtle gleam in his eyes. "But make no mistake, maybe I will have something for you to pilot. Let's focus on the business at hand for now, and we'll see where the night takes us later."

"So, Adeon, what do you say? Deal?"
Shade

"Sorry for the inconvenience, but the item is no longer available"

Nesta updates the other possible buyer and worries if that might reflect bad on her review on "HoloRoad" - the dark net selling community.

"This is Shade," Maya said. "He's always interested in purchasing and selling stuff."
Adeon gives a casual nod.
"I'm Adeon. Nice to meet ya."

In the midst of the lively bar, Adeon casually pulls out a gun from under his blanket, flashing it to Shade. Respecting Nesta's warning about showing weapons, Adeon doesn't pass the gun to Shade, he just lets him check it out.
"Take a peek. It's brand new, man."
Quote:
"Unh..." - he checks the weapon registry in his dataslab. "Registered for Conocorp. Okay, I can handle that. 250 credits for the gun."
At the mention of 'Conocorp,' Adeon's composure crumbles, his gaze dropping to the ground. Despite his imposing size, he suddenly resembles a delicate creature.
"Uh, yeah, they hooked us up with this thing, but like, I've never had to bust it out, and honestly, I'm good without it."
Quote:
"So, Adeon, what do you say? Deal?"
"Any friends from Dr. Maya must be a good person, so dea- ."

Adeon is suddenly cut off by Nesta.
Quote:
"Sorry for the inconvenience, but the item is no longer available"
Adeon looks consfused to Nesta.
"What do you mean sister Nesta?".
Feb 6, 2024 9:58 am
"No Adeon, I was typing for the online buyer, sorry, carry on"
OOC:
Sorry should have specified better that I was not talking out loud

With everything sorted out, Shade completed the transaction with a smooth exchange of credits for Adeon's rifle. The weapon, now in the possession of a discreet figure at another table, became a shadowy asset in the labyrinth of deals within "The Null Nexus." Adeon account received the agreed-upon credits.

Shade, seemingly satisfied with the night's dealings, chose to linger with Maya, Ariel, and the rest of the group, blending seamlessly into the eclectic atmosphere of the bar. The pulsating beats, neon lights, and the air thick with the scent of cyberpunk life created a surreal backdrop for their camaraderie.
As dawn broke over Satton V, Shade, the mysterious presence from the previous night, was conspicuously absent.

Nevertheless, Maya and her eclectic group gathered at the agreed-upon meeting point in the starport, the remnants of synthetic music from the night before still echoing in their minds.

Navigating through the security checks and bustling crowds, the group arrived at the docking area. Amidst the hustle and bustle of the spaceport, the team boarded their shuttle for the Sylonean Federation Scout Service orbital station.

The hum of the spacecraft's engines vibrated through the hull as they lifted off, escaping the gravitational grip of Satton V. Through the viewports, the sprawling cityscape shrank into a mosaic of lights until it became a mere glimmer against the canvas of space.

Bound for the Sylonean Federation Scout Service orbital station, their journey through the silent stars began, leaving the neon-lit shadows of Satton V far below.
The Sylonean Federation Scout Service orbital station hung in the void of space like a metallic jewel, its structure a testament to advanced engineering and functionality. A ring-shaped station, encircling a central hub, housed various docking ports, maintenance facilities, shipyards and living quarters. The exterior gleamed with a combination of solar panels and reflective alloy, capturing the distant starlight and radiating a subtle glow against the cosmic backdrop.

As the shuttle approached the designated docking bay, the station's automated systems seamlessly guided the transport vessel into position. The docking procedures unfolded with a synchronized dance of thrusters and magnetic locks.

Once docked, the group disembarked into a spacious and pressurized docking bay, greeted by the controlled hum of machinery and the sterile atmosphere typical of such orbital installations. The airlocks sealed behind them, cutting off the void of space and the protection of the force fields. Personnel in futuristic uniforms bustled about, attending to various tasks with practiced efficiency. Large signs marked the pathways, leading passengers to different sections of the station.

At the docking bay entrance, a humanoid figure caught their attention – R8PO, a red android with a sleek metallic exterior. Its eyes glowed with an artificial intensity as it greeted them, its voice modulated with precision.

"Welcome to the Sylonean Federation Scout Service orbital station. I am R8PO, your automated station guide. Please follow me for inspection and registration. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask."

The android extended a metallic arm, gesturing towards a luminous pathway on the floor.
OOC:
What do you do?
Feb 6, 2024 11:50 am
humm, that droid looks awfully familiar...

Nesta thinks to herself as she follows the droid's direction. She check's on her arm datapad and says:

"We have a meeting with Markus Solanis, where can we find him after inspection?"

"Oh, in that case, I will take you there, M'Lady. If you would be so kind as to accompany me this way..."

As they followed the path, holographic displays provided information about the station's facilities and regulations. The air within the station carried a faint hum of machinery and the sterile scent of advanced technology.

R8PO, the red android guide, directed them towards a designated security checkpoint where weapons were to be surrendered. The checkpoint was marked by a holographic sign displaying a stylized firearm crossed out, indicating the restriction on carrying weapons beyond that point. Customs officers, clad in streamlined uniforms, conducted scans and verification procedures with swift efficiency.

"For the safety and security of all station occupants, please deposit your weapons in the designated receptacle. They will be securely stored and returned upon your departure."
OOC:
What do you do?

I turn in my pistol, and wait for the other to do the same
Feb 8, 2024 2:01 am
Phantom observes every detail of the security checkpoint, as he sees the holographic sign, he shakes his head, making a disapproving face. He pulls out from inside his coat a laser pistol and a monoblade knife and hands them over, saying:

"Don't worry, darlings. I'll be back in a jiffy to come get you."
Feb 12, 2024 9:01 pm
damn... i knew that i should've learned how to assemble and disassemble weapons in that traning program of armed forces...

with a contradicted face he turn in his weapon.

"here take it, but if i die, better you known that i'll come back to hunt you all"
Feb 17, 2024 12:18 am
Everybody complied and gave all their weapons.

Once cleared, the group proceeded further into the station's interior, guided by the ever-watchful gaze of R8PO. Their destination was the SFSS Station's Detached Duty Office.

The crew, guided by R8PO, entered the office to find Markus Solanis at the heart of the orchestrated chaos.

As the crew entered the SFSS Station's Detached Duty Office, the android discreetly leaves, leaving you with Markus Solanis sitting behind a polished desk, surrounded by holographic displays and monitors. His fingers danced across a holographic interface, a master orchestrator in the symphony of information that unfolded before him.

With sharp features that spoke of both experience and cunning, he had an air of someone who had navigated the intricate web of megacorporation intrigue for years. His salt-and-pepper hair hinted at a wealth of experiences, and the lines etched on his face told tales of countless explorations, negotiations and dealings. Markus had a commanding presence, his posture radiating confidence. Dressed in a sleek, charcoal-gray suit, Markus has sharp and discerning eyes, revealing a mind that never ceased its analysis.

"Good morning. I'm Markus Solanis, head of the local SFSS office and in charge of recruitment and mission assignments."
OOC:
What do you do?
Feb 18, 2024 4:02 pm
"Hello Mr. Markus, we’ve been sent here by our contact Lyra, she said you could have a recovery job that was up our alley"

Nesta shows him some sort of proof that we really know her.
OOC:
Don’t know if the contract would be something we show him or not, but at least a contact info to show we are the real deal.

Feb 18, 2024 4:13 pm
"Oh, indeed. We are looking for a qualified crew to recover that starship on Watson. The ship has suffered a major problem with its electronics systems and needs a crew to deliver some replacement parts. You will also need to download a replacement operating system into the ship’s computers to ensure that any corruption caused by the failure does not endanger the vessel. Once the ship’s systems are up and running, it must be brought back here where a proper systems overhaul can be made.

I can offer 1,000 credits each before the job and a license worth even more than that after you come back. But before that, I need to be sure that you're qualified for the job. There may be unexpected complications, of course. Can you work as a team? Do you have the necessary skills and aptitudes?"
Markus Solanis
Feb 18, 2024 4:18 pm
"Hello, Markus! Is it ok if I call you Markus? I always get weirded out by formalities. My name is Maya!

Maya shows a soft and friendly grin and stands her hand out to him.

"As Nesta said, Lyra informed us about this recovery job, she felt like we could help you, and instructed us to get in touch with you. Feel free to ask anything you'd like to know about us."
OOC:

I feel like a connect roll would be nice to get him to feel comfortable and trust us. If it isn't appropriate, please, @htech, let me know! :)

OOC:
You are actually Talk ing. You can roll Talk to persuade, charm, or deceive others in conversation.

Because you have the same bonus for both skills, let's keep it. No need to roll again. =)
"Well, Maya, you surely knows your way talking to people. You can call me Markus. Now I have a good feeling about this crew, but I still need you to pass some tests, as well. Can any of you install a replacement operating system into a ship’s computers? Here, take this simulated terminal and do that."
OOC:
Whoever wants to try, roll Int/Program DC 8.

Please put "Int/Program DC 8" in the reason, so we can see if you succeed or fail automatically =)
"Of course, you will also need to fly. Can any of you pilot? If so, please use this ship simulator here."
OOC:
Whoever wants to try, roll Int/Pilot DC 8 or Dex/Pilot DC 8.

Please put that in the reason, so we can see if you succeed or fail automatically =)
"Besides those mandatory tests, if someone else wanna show me another relevant skill and how can that be used during the mission, I'm all ears."
Markus Solanis

OOC:
PS: The same PC cannot roll twice (for the same or another skill)

"The replacement OS won’t be a problem"
Feb 18, 2024 7:30 pm
OOC:
You actually missed the DC 8 in the reason, I was trying to teach how that works for the group. =) We will keep your success, either way.

Adeon after processing that R8PO is not his brother, but looks like one of them, comes back to reality and responds to Markus.

"Um, yeah, I'm not sure if I should wreck your stuff to show my 'muscles'. But hmm, I'm like their bodyguard, you know? Making sure they can do all their tech stuff without anyone hassling them. Cool, huh?"
OOC:
Can I roll Notice to see if I notice something off about him or this mission, if it isn't an ambush or he's hiding something?

Rolls

Wis/Notice - (2d6)

Adeon doesn't notice anything "fishy" or unusual about Markus.

"That certainly qualifies as useful. We have a firing range and a boxing ring that you can show me your skills afterwards. We use combat droids and non-lethal weapons during that test. Will anybody else join you there? Either way, let me finish the 'boring' exams first. We will keep yours to the end."
