With the conclusion of "Shovels at Dawn," Gertrude moves on to the next stage of her Journey: The Witching Path.



A new Shelf has been unlocked in the Google Slides document as well: Gertrude's Bookcase.

We're getting ready to wrap up the current chapter. @Knell, if you've got your internet connection issues resolved, you'll be able to join in when we choose the next chapter.

Now that we have wrapped up "A Mug of Winter Cheer," we have a total of 3 Square Mementos (or 4 if Demi Gorgone accepts the job offer and finishes her Journey) and 1 Circle Memento. There's a lot we can do with these, so check the Shelves and let me know if there's something that catches your eye. We can basically open up any new Shelf, or work on unlocking Chapters and Guests from existing unlocked Shelves.

We can also start thinking about which Chapter we want to play next. There are six Early Chapters still remaining that we haven't played yet, or we could unlock a new Chapter from the Shelves to play.

With the Leftovers from last chapter, we've unlocked Edmund Wakeman as a guest.

I am fine with unlocking any of that stuff! If we have unplayed chapters, we could unlock more guests (unless there is a specific chapter y'all want to get). So basically, I am no help at all in deciding since I defer!

If nobody has strong feelings, I rolled randomly and it came up with Yazeba’s study. Using 3 square mementos will unlock the relaxed chapter "The Remodeled Library" and let us put mementos in the other nooks. We could also unlock a new Guest now if we want or save the remaining square and circle mementos. The guests available to unlock in the front desk are Bethsy (a spoiled white cat looking for a treasure supposedly hidden in the B&B), the Dabrowski Family (Lily, an exhausted young wizard-in-training, and her oblivious dad, Bill), the Ptisilith (a mysterious ancient floating stone), and Rowan and Zephyr Lyranthiel (a pair of dandy elven bards with foppish and cosmopolitan tastes)

The guests available to unlock in Yazeba’s study include Agate Aventurine (an ancient mountain troll and Yazeba’s one true friend), Mel Larkin (a nervous librarian who transforms into a confident female werewolf and back each time he or she completes their short Journey), and Silkwhisper (a former witch who made a deal with fairies and now exists as a colony of moths).

The guests available to unlock in the Supply Closet include Dr. Domizio (an elderly tinkerer who created Amelie) and Hiccup (a delicate clockwork dancer).

Geez the characters in this game are amazing! I guess my top 3 of those you mentioned would be (in no order) Ptisilith, Mel Larkin, and Hiccup. But honestly they all sound cool.

Mel and Hiccup are also on my top three, so I’m fine with taking anyone from Redcroc’s list.

I like Merv/Mel too so we can use the Square memento to unlock them. We could also use the Circle memento for the Ptisilith if you'd like. I'll post both sheets in the Guests thread.

We can also start choosing characters for The Remodeled Library. We could each play two characters if we want to fill out the cast more.
