Alright, I will play as Gertrude this chapter. Ysolde may choose any unclaimed resident or guest.
I’ve opened up the chapter thread so everybody may begin posting when ready. To simulate the Chaos Coins, roll a d2 for each one when asked to consult them. A result of 1 counts as "heads" and a result of 2 counts as "tails."
@Dmbrainiac I guess IitW is like Blackjack where you don’t ‘hit’ on 17 (not that I ever spent a dime at a casino in my life, but I’ve seen a lotta movies)… but with a twist: I can drop the card of my choice.
Also, it appears you pause the draws if I have 12+, since at 11 or less, I can’t possibly go over 21.
If I understand correctly, I believe I can let Amelie sleep and she wakes up with one card in hand. (I choose which.)
"The Seeker may choose at any point to go back to bed. If they do, shuffle all but one card from their hand back into the deck. Slip a card of your choice inside your copy of this book and keep it there."
So it's unclear if the card you slip into the book is the one you keep in your hand, another one from your hand, or any card of your choice from the deck. It's kind of vague. Which interpretation do you think makes most sense?
Keeping in the book is also what I did with the cards that added to 21, right?
If that’s the case, it seems I get to decide which card is permanently removed from play.
Interesting… my goal is to collect all of the aces, and until then, make sure I can make 21. So probably, I’m better off taking the higher card out of play (so I can draw more in one "turn") but also better off keeping 10s and face cards in play (so I can always make 21 while aces are still in the deck).
I’ll edit to remove the 9 from play. I don’t actually know if this is the best tactic but gonna do it anyway…!
