OOC Conversation

We'll be wrapping up this chapter soon. Afterwards, we'll have 2 Square Mementos available. We can either hold onto them until we get 3 to unlock one of the shelves we haven't unlocked yet, or we can use them to unlock new guests or new chapters. I've posted all the potential chapters we can unlock right now to the Chapters thread. Each of those chapters can be unlocked with one Square Memento, except for The Night Market, which costs 2 Square Mementos but also opens up the rest of Gertrude's backpack.

Here are the guests we can unlock with one Square Memento each:

The guests available to unlock in the front desk are Bethsy (a spoiled white cat looking for a treasure supposedly hidden in the B&B), the Dabrowski Family (Lily, an exhausted young wizard-in-training, and her oblivious dad, Bill), and Rowan and Zephyr Lyranthiel (a pair of dandy elven bards with foppish and cosmopolitan tastes). The guest available to unlock in Yazeba’s study is Silkwhisper (a former witch who made a deal with fairies and now exists as a colony of moths). The guest available to unlock in the Supply Closet is Hiccup (a delicate clockwork dancer).

Personally, I think we have plenty of guests already and would want to focus on the new Chapters. My vote is to unlock The Night Market.

I've also added the remaining bonus chapters that are scattered throughout the book to the Chapters thread. We can play those at any time, perhaps concurrent with other chapters. The first one, "The AMEL-300," is restricted to 3 players. The second, "Diary Two," is a solo chapter. The third, "Heartsword," is for any number of players.

I agree with opening the Night Market

Alright we shall do The Night Market next, as it's a natural follow up to Gertrude's birthday. I'll post the chapter details either later tonight or tomorrow.

In the meantime, I applied the Leftovers for most of the characters in this past chapter to their sheets in the Google Slides document, with the tokens from those without tracks on their journeys going to the assorted track. The Moon Prince made some progress on their journey and I marked one of the continents for Wren Snow.

@Jdoublep you can draw a tattoo on Alex's journey! @Legendary_Sidekick Amelie might have some photo ops during the birthday party to further their journey.

For the next chapter, we will need somebody to play Gertrude and somebody to play Monday, then the others can play anybody except Yazeba to serve as Gertrude's escort through the fairy realm.

Quickly posting chapter details here from my phone, I'll make a real thread for it when I have more time.

Oh, I forgot earlier, but @Redcroc can use the Ptisilith's 4 leftover coins to start drawing its glyphs in its Journey.

Woo! Is there a preferred way or format for players to do stuff like that? I was thinking using a pixel art program.

I got 3 photos per adventure, so Amelie is ready for the next journey! I can play the AMEL-3000 episode to keep this character’s advancement moving.

@Legendary_Sidekick go ahead and pick another Spare Journey for Amelie. You can find them in this post. You can also change one of Amelie's Bingos or Whoopsies to reflect the new data they learned as a Shutterbug.

I'll open threads for the Night Market and AMEL 3000 tomorrow morning.

Okay, both threads are open for the new chapters. Verrain has volunteered to play Monday in The Night Market, so we'll need somebody to play Gertrude and the others can play anybody but Yazeba. Everybody should also write down a personal fact about a creature, a description of a wild outfit, an unusual kind of body, and a tricksy fairy magic as detailed under the "Unfamiliar Magic" section of the chapter rules.

Legendary_Sidekick has volunteered to play Amelie for The AMEL-3000. That chapter is restricted to 3 players, so whichever two of you want to join can play Amelie's double and Yazeba.

Also, yesterday marked 1 year since I created this game on the forums! To celebrate, I'm giving the B&B another Slice of Cake (Square Memento) and using it towards opening the last Shelf we haven't seen yet, The Attic Observatory. Thanks to all of you for making Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast feel so special. :D

Oh, and I also hosted a movie night this past weekend, so Demi Gorgone has returned to the B&B and is available to play once again. :D

I think I’ll take the Flying Machine journey because it’s a good follow-up from reading about planes, then inviting Wren to the party.

In the full moonlight, my fins change colors from pale silver to shimmering violet.
A swirling cloak made of iridescent beetle shells, lined with neon-purple chiffon.
A body composed of delicate, semi-translucent petals resembling a rose.
A pirouette and a whistle conjure a swirl of cotton-candy clouds which dissolve into a giddy laughter causing nearby folk to dance uncontrollably in gleeful abandon for a few moments.

• A bejeweled crown, ribbons cascading down, the elegant ankle-length gown, and what shoes! Roller stilettos, the talk of the town!

• Pick a card, any card, from a deck of 100. Is it the one with one red horizontal line and ten blue horizontal lines? And it’s otherwise blank, right? No notes with my latest game idea or drawings of fairies on it, right? Aha! See? I knew it… magic, yup. It means you’ll find love, if you didn’t already. Ta-daaaa?

I was thinking of taking the Moon Prince on a trip to the Night Market but I can also pick Gertrude if we need some to play her. Either way, I would like to bring the Ptisilith again so I can get more rune bits.

*A lithe form covered in neon scales.
*With a clap of fairy dust and a drop of water, a colony of powderpuff mushrooms will sprout up in seconds.

I’ll play Gertrude in the Night Market so Redcroc can play the Moon Prince and the Ptisilith. I assume Gertrude asked MP to go with her, while the Ptsilith, Ichor, and Demi Gorgone somehow invited themselves along. :D

I complied the list of stranger details as a numbered chart, so we can roll 2d20 to determine the qualities a stranger has, rerolling if we get a result that has been chosen already.

I noticed the numbers are a little off for the chapter to work as intended since Monday plays by different rules from usual pensive chapters, so Gertrude’s question will start with 18 tokens instead of 9. That should fix things.

We still need more volunteers for The AMEL-3000, or at least one, and I can play the remaining character.
