Chapter 4: The Waters of Menehune
Following Regan and Admiral's blast, Cordey attempts to let his bolt fly, but the crossbow mechanism jams preventing the shot. The half-sea elf curses.
Jin whispers arcane words while gripping the thorns in his palm tightly. Then, below, the jungle floor just ahead of the quartet of nearest eel-hounds ripples like water and quietly erupts with barbed creepers and needle-sharp thorns that curl back on themselves poised to shred anything that dares push through. The approaching eelhounds rip through the hinderance in heedless synchronized unison. (Eelhounds 91 damage.)
Whille spikes and blasts rip into the beasts below the slab, Mischa moves to the edge of the slab, in the opposite direction of the oncoming hounds. She places her fingertips on her temples and closes her eyes in concentration.
Tasya pulls two daggers from her belt. The moonlight reveals her look of helplessness as her daggers are currently useless to her. Instead she moves to calm the young boy who is clearly frightened by the growls and the danger posed by the oncoming beasts.
Rowan pulls a shortbow from his shoulder, readies and fires an arrow that hits one of the oncoming hounds. (Eelhounds 4 damage.)
Taresh, still sitting on the slab with his eyes closed, raises an arm and lets a bolt of fire loose toward the beasts. Though the flame misses the target, torching some of Jin's spiked growth.
Khyree whispers a focused mantra; spectral jade-and-amber wings bloom from her shoulders, translucent and crackling with draconic energy. "I'll divert their attention captain." Then without waiting for acknowledgment or approval she springs from the slab in a single, buoyant bound, air rushing past as the wings beat once and carry her in a swift arc above the mist-shrouded jungle. Gliding low, she banks toward closest snapping eelhounds.

Noted: Admiral has cast armor of agathys (15 temp hp).
oopsylon, please make a stealth roll for Admiral with Advantage due the fact that Khryee is getting the closest hounds to focus on her.
The closest group of 4 synchronized hounds takes 128 damage. The group had 216 HP but now has 88.
I will put stats up in my typical fashion tomorrow.
Okay that was round 1. (All the hounds did was move.) Now round 2. The party is up again.

Admiral drops cat-silent from the slab, feline agility carrying him in a blur down the ledge and around the warding mist. From the vines where he lands, he sees the jungle floor spread like a moonlit chessboard: to his left, about 30 away and below him, on the other side of a rocky divide, four eel-hounds prowl toward the slab. They notice Khyree gliding toward them. Their pointy jaws snap in her direction.
Ahead of Admiral, jungle undergrowth, vines, and dense trees converge, making excellent cover for his stealthy goal of assassinating the boggle puppet master who he presumes remains stationary in the tree slightly more than 300 feet away from him. Admiral notices that the mist—now that he is not on the slab—no longer shows the faint outlines of the beasts or the boggle. Where the mist is thick, he cannot see through it.

Admiral is stealthily dashing through the jungle toward the boggle's location.
Cordey still fusses with unjamming his crossbow.
Taresh fires another firebolt, this time he stands with his eyes open.
Jin joins with an Eldritch Blast.
Mischa, on the opposite side of the slab from the action, lowers her hands from her temples and begins humming a low melody.
Rowan fires an arrow.
Tasya embraces the shaking child.
After the barrage of ranged attacks fly from the slab, Khyree glides just above the group of the nearest hounds. As one leaps up at her she swips it with her quarterstaff.

Moon-washed mist follows the four—now wounded—eel-hounds as they rush toward and scale the ledge in eerie unison. Their slick, scale-flecked limbs find impossible holds in the craggy stone. With a last coordinated lunge, they crest the rim, serpentine spines undulating as one, and spring onto the slab—claws skittering, jaws gaping to reveal double rows of needle teeth that gleam like wet glass.
As the mist washes over the slab, keeping its cover on the attacking beasts, Regan feels a refreshing invigorating feeling wash over him with it. Now, not only does his mind feel alert, as it it had from the affects of the root, but he also feels a sudden surge of vitality, his body renewed as though he’d slept a full night in a heartbeat.
The first eelhound lands beside Cordey, fangs snapping inches at his throat and it tail lashing like a whip. Just in time Cordey drops his crossbow to his side and draws his cutlass to fend off the attacks.
A second crashes into Tasya’s bedroll and lunges at the acrobat. The boy in her arms screams in terrible fear. Tasya shifts the boy out of harms way just to get lashed by a tail. (Tasya 9 damage)
The last two beasts split: one drives straight at Regan’s chest, the other nearly clips Jin’s arm with a whip-like tail. Regan is prepared and easily fends off the beast's attack. Jin, not so lucky, after avoiding the tail lash, gets his arm ripped into by needle-like teeth. (Jin 8 damage)
ADMIRAL
Admiral keeps moving, the jungle and the mist as his cover.
He can hear the echoes of the party's clash on the slab behind him. Ahead he sees, as jungle dense growth and shifting mists permit, a larger group of hounds moving together in the direction of the slab.
