If someone can heal, maybe heal Couth? Otherwise Ashtar can use his potion, but I’d rather not spend a consummable unless it’s an emergency.

Death Save couth - (1d20)

Apr 9, 2024 1:12 pm
Couth throat gurgles. He starts unconsciously coughing up blood..
OOC:
@grifter730,@Khulod,@Redamancy,@Kilikina Out of Combat but Couth is still unconscious

Panting after bringing down the final foe, a gurgle catches her attention. Spinning to see Couth on the ground, Alyria mutters a curse in a foreign language. She drops to her knees beside him as she rests her hands against his chest as she feels her palms grow warm as what life force she can give begins to flood into him. "He needs a healer, soon" she says to the group.
OOC:
My last five points of Lay of Hands to our poor, fallen man.

Couth's wounds pulsate briefly, then swiftly knit themselves back together. He coughs up a mixture of blood and spittle, visibly shaken. Slowly rising to his feet, he mutters, "Is it dead? Those claws were... Something else." Struggling to maintain his balance, he gathers his fallen weapons and nods at Alyria, saying, "Thank you."
OOC:
Couth is alive! 5hp but he doesn't fully look like himself. I will update map when home.
Apr 9, 2024 8:08 pm
"This cursed place will be the end of us all if we don't figure out a way to leave soon." Eye of the Storm grouched. That had been a close call with Couth.
Apr 9, 2024 9:27 pm
Couth is alive. 4 undead cultists are now dead.
The party stands in the tunnel, deciding where to go next.
OOC:
You have 5+ different options for where to go.
The nearest choices are the Red, Green, Pink, Blue, and Yellow arrows.
Let me know what you wish to do, where you wish to go, or if you have any questions!

"If everyone's ready, let's keep moving. Sooner we clear this place, the sooner we can leave... hopefully." Ashtar heads to the west.
OOC:
Let's go red arrow. If someone wants to choose a different route, feel free, I just chose it at random to move things along.

OOC:
Red arrow sounds good. Also, I handed one of the health potions I found in the hidden chest to Couth so he can drink that now that he’s back up.

This tunnel heads down a few flights of stairs. You can see what looks like a larger room at the end of the stairs.
The tunnel splits and heads to another flight of stairs that connects with a path you saw earlier.
OOC:
Perception Checks please!

Red Arrow heads to a room. Blue Arrow down some stairs. Green and Yellow Arrows to the unknown!

Keeping her crossbow at the ready, Briar scans the surroundings as the group progresses through the hallways. "This place is a maze," she comments lamely, as if it weren't obvious. Trying to keep grip of some silver lining, she adds, "At least we put the kids to rest."

"A crypt maze." Ashtar added to Briar’s thoughts. "Bad as it is, it reminds me of places I’ve ventured into in the past. I find it… disturbing how familiar it all feels."

Ashtar continues downward.
OOC:
Red arrow again I guess.

Ashtar walks down the tunnel to the next room. In the lower tunnel he notices that the one sections of the dungeon looks stange.
OOC:
We can come back to this.

As you step into the room, the air turns stale and heavy. A 4-foot-wide well shaft dominates the center, its dark depths seemingly bottomless. The stone lip, standing at a mere 3 feet high, exudes an eerie aura. Above, a wooden bucket hangs ominously from a creaking rope-and-pulley mechanism, almost as if it moves of its own accord.

Adjacent to the well, five side rooms whisper tales of long-forgotten horrors. These were once quarters for senior cultists, now shrouded in darkness and decay. Inside each room, a wood-framed bed with a moldy straw mattress stands as a testament to the desolation that lingers. Beside each bed, a wooden chest.

"This place just gets stranger and stranger the longer we stay here." Alyria looks at the well, inspecting it to see if the bucket is at the top or what could be at the bottom of the well.

"Briar," she adds as she looks, "let me know if any loot you find in the chests are noteworthy for me. And yes, I know you’ll go looking," she chuckles with her last statement.

Eye of the Storm looks down the well. The sound the pulley makes suggests an air current to the Tabaxi..

@Redamancy Assuming you wish to open the chest I will need 5 Thieves Tools Checks. (Dex + Proficiency Bonus)

As the party gets close to the well, the pully unleashes the bucket, sending it into the well with an echoing splash, causing a few to jump.
Eye of the Storm doesn't feel any wind or air current. Maybe everything was moving on its own.

Looking down the well into the bucket, you see something shiny sitting in the bucket. You can't make out what it is though...
OOC:
The bucket is about 40ft down. There is a rope by the well to pull up the bucket.

OOC:
How does the water smell?
The Tabaxi man stared down the well intently, waiting for movement. With his luck so far this well, too, was cursed. But nothing happened for a few moments. He then turned his attention around the room. In this moment of peace, he wondered about their next step. What would they face next? Eye of the Storm did not know. What had these fools tried to do that had them end up like this? Dabbling with foul magic, that much was plain, but what specifically? Perhaps it was best not to know, but his survival and that of the others might depend on it. Couth had just come close. What if the next time didn't turn out as well? They needed every edge they could get. Perhaps there was something down that well that could help make sense of this. With a sign he turned to the pully and began cranking up the bucket.

"That wall is strange," Ashtar noted to the others, keeping in mind to check it on the way back. He scours the bedrooms with Briar, keeping a blast at the ready as she goes about her business.
