Eye of the Storm was used to a carnivorous diet and butchering his own prey, as well as watching Darkcloud eat. The smell was bad, but it wasn't his primary concern. The carpet of bugs heading their way for a fresh meal was! How was he supposed to fight hundreds of bugs!?

Ashtar remained calm as the others reacted to the swarm in their own way. He'd had enough of this place, and if facing a swarm would lead him out, it was best to get it over with. The quarterstaff in his hand would be near useless, so he stretched out his other hand, aiming as if to grasp the swarm ahead. His eyes furrowed, strands of the weave swirled in him as he pulled eldritch energy from the beyond, and blasted it out of his hands.

After dealing with her own shudders of having a ghost vacate her body and the horror scene that was the dining area of the basement, Alyria stares down the disgusting bugs, ready to face a situation that she can handle without feeling the fear the poor, diseased boy had flooded her body with before. Unsheathing her sword, she takes a swing at the critters.

Ashtar's powerful blast rips through the swarm, causing a disgusting shower of bug splatter to spray in all directions. Alyria's deft sword strikes cut down a dozen of the flying pests into twisted bits, while Briar's bolt, flying with lethal precision, impales several more as it pierces the air. With a resounding thud, Couth slams his hammer into the ground, turning the remaining bugs into a grotesque, oozing mess of jelly.

Now, only a handful of the creepy crawlers remain, scurrying desperately toward Couth. They crawl up his legs, their tiny jaws gnashing as they attempt, but fail to bite through his clothing.

The Tabaxi was shuffling back, pulling out his bow. He wasn't sure what he could do with it, but he also ordered Darkcloud back. The great bat bristled, but it was also unsure what it could do. The Tabaxi however saw the swarm enter the hallway, including crawling over the ceiling.
"Look out, above you!"

With a sharp and practiced move he drew back his longbow and fired a shot into the crawling mass overhead, hoping to disrupt it.

The attacks seemed to be working, emboldening Ashtar and giving him hope. He shot out blasts of eldritch energy once more.

Seeing the swarm venture towards someone other than herself leaves her incensed. Swinging her sword again, she took aim to slash the remaining insect hellions into bits.

Tracking the mess of disgusting insects, Briar cries out a small "YAH" as if it increases her fierceness as she reloads her hand crossbow and fires again.

Eye of the Storm deftly adjusts his position, taking careful aim at the insects swarming over Couth's legs. With precise timing, his shot streaks past, hitting a few critters as it goes. Meanwhile, Briar's bolt veers slightly off target, Alyria's sword narrowly avoids slicing Couth's thigh, and Ashtar's magic falters, fizzling out before making an impact.

As Couth attempts to crush the bugs underfoot, he inadvertently smashes his own big toe instead. The persistent pests, undeterred by the chaos, manage to crawl into his pants leg, their sharp fangs sinking into his calf. Couth winces in agony as the pain shoots through his body.
