World Lore

The Adepta Sororitas, colloquially called the "Sisterhood," whose military arm is also known as the Sisters of Battle and formerly as the Daughters of the Emperor, are an all-female division of the Imperium of Man's state church known as the Ecclesiarchy or, more formally, as the Adeptus Ministorum.

The Sisterhood's Orders Militant serve as the Ecclesiarchy's armed forces, mercilessly rooting out spiritual corruption and heresy within Humanity and every organisation of the Adeptus Terra.

There is naturally some overlap between the duties of the Sisterhood and the Imperial Inquisition; for this reason, although the Inquisition and the Sisterhood remain entirely separate organisations, the Orders Militant of the Adepta Sororitas also act as the Chamber Militant of the Inquisition's Ordo Hereticus.

The Adepta Sororitas and the Sisters of Battle are commonly regarded as the same organisation, but the latter title technically refers only to the Orders Militant of the Adepta Sororitas, the best-known part of the organisation to the Imperial public.

The Sisterhood serves as the Ministorum's only official military force because the Decree Passive laid down by the reformist Ecclesiarch Sebastian Thor held that in the wake of the Age of Apostasy's Reign of Blood in the 36th Millennium, the Ecclesiarchy cannot maintain any "men under arms."

This command was supposed to limit the power of the Ecclesiarchy by preventing it from maintaining the massive armies of the faithful Frateris Templar it once used to abuse its power from the 32nd to the 36th Millennia.

However, the Adeptus Ministorum has been able to circumvent this decree with the subtle acquiescence of the Inquisition by deploying the all-female military force of the Sisterhood's Orders Militant.

Equinox System
The Equinox System is, perhaps, one of the most pacified systems in the Imperium of Man. As its name implies it lies roughly in the middle of the Imperium. It is made up of a Simple yellow M class star, and seven worlds.

The worlds of the Equinox system are named after the visible spectrum:
- Violet Equinox or Equinox I is an agricultural world perfectly set within the habitable zone of its mother star

- Indigo Equinox or Equinox II is a little larger than Equinox I and is mostly frozen water. A prison colony of heretics and rebels from Equinox I lives here mining the meagre ores.

- Blue Equinox or Equinox III is a large gas giant with a few gas mining stations around it.

- Green Equinox or Equinox IV is a radioactive husk with large deposits of Uranium and Radium. Only machines can survive on the surface.

- Yellow Equinox or Equinox V is mostly Sulphur deposits with a few mining stations.

- Orange Equinox or Equinox VI is another large gas giant with some gas mining stations.

- Red Equinox or Equinox VII is a large iron planet. Any suggestion that Equinox VII is anything, but a blasted metal husk should be ignored. Suggestions that Equinox VII is a large Xenos structure are considered Heresy!


Violet Equinox

The Simple Agri-World of Violet Equinox is one of hundreds and thousands just like it. It is set in a mostly tame region of space where the last Space Marines were seen thousands of years ago. The only thing of note on Violet Equinox is a simple chapter of the Adeptas Sororitas known as the Sisterhood of the Black Rose. The sisterhood, of which there are not many, is in place to protect and revere the sacred armor of Saint Kodachi the Black Rose of Violet Equinox who, according to legend, defeated an entire army of Xenos on her own, martyring herself in battle to protect the planet and making enough time for the Space Marines to arrive.

Most residents of Violet Equinox are serfs who work the numerous fields that are everywhere on the planet. With a singular exception of Agri-City as the spaceport, government complex, and home of the nobility.

The Sisterhood of the Black Rose
The Sisterhood of the Black Rose is an offshoot of the main Order of the Bloody Rose. The main purpose of the order on Violet Equinox is to maintain and care for the shrine of St. Kodachi also known as the Black Rose of the Order of the Bloody Rose. St. Kodachi led numerous campaigns against heretics and xenos but, she is most well known, for her defense of Violet Equinox against an Orc Horde.

According to the records the Militia of Violet Equinox was broken by an Orc Horde and nothing stood between the horde and Agri City except for Kodachi and her retinue. The names of those who stood with the saint have been lost to history though some claim heritage with them. Kodachi herself is said to have leapt into battle against the Orc horde in only her holy Skin Suit and Micromolecular Whip. These items are on display in the holy shrine to this day and the Sisterhood of the Black Rose has been assigned to care for these holy artifacts.

Reliquant Superior - Maria Grace is the spiritual leader of the small Sisterhood and is in charge of caring for the holy relic.

Violet Equinox - People and Organizations

Government
Governor - The VonDrurin family has governed the system for hundreds of years. Girorim VonDrurin is the head of the family and in his late 60’s. He has a wife (Regina) and three children: Girorim Jr., Deborah, and Felrim.

Council - The governor’s council is made up of the nobility of the system with five main factions.

The Hauptmann family - Owns actual grape plantations and makes wine as well as a amasec (cheap drinking alcohol)

The Drarin family - Owns and runs the prisons and most of the off planet factories.

The Fields family - Runs most of the rest of the vast farms on the world minus what the Governor owns.


Astra Militarum
One Regiment at partial force (1 Battalion at 1/3 strength made up of 3 companies of 60-100) so a Captain and two 2nd lieutenants. Captain Rengal is well paid by the Governor to ignore just how un-prepared his people are.

Navis Imperialis
Captain Athena Hackett - Commands a frigate and is responsible for ferrying guards and prisoners to and from the various mines.

Agri-City
The only city on Violet Equinox holds the homes of the nobility and merchants. It has few tall buildings and a huge plascrete wall around it.
