I'm trying to remember that while Marya is bene gesserit, and they're so focused on serving and self-control, they do also feel fear and anger and love and so on. And that they are prepared to (in a controlled way) let these aspects express themselves. But usually with several other motives going on at the same time. Oh, and as a player I enjoy looking at how relationships between PCs change, which is another reason I'm putting this out there.

Is it appropriate to roll something here for Marya to use her Charm trait to make it more likely for Rook and Markus to be interested in socialising together?

Something like Power (8 "Understanding others is the path to true power" as she's trying to build understanding within the team here), Communicate (6), no Focus, but Charming Trait?

I'm generally against using rolls between PCs, as it reduces the other players' agency. Also especially when Momentum could be added to the pool with good rolls, it seems like subject to abuse. Not to imply that is your actual intent, but I'm just aware of it in principle.

Thanks for that GM. That feels like a more comfortable way to play to me too i.e. to avoid rolls between PCs.

One of Marcus's Assets is "a friend among the mercenary community on Arrakis." As who that is wasn't defined before we started playing, is it possible that Marcus knows this organization and/or his friend is a member of or is familiar with them?

FWIW, Hural has a mind to specifically give Bafta's former employer the boot and try to hire their rival, to ensure they're not bringing someone on board that is more loyal to the Builder's Union than Lady Sina. Marcus's idea can work well with this.

Hural would like to cinch up this deal with the organized criminal (mercenary?) element first, as that was part of their mission. Then, yes, he would allow himself some relaxation.

Rook will keep his eyes and ears open while Hural does his thing.

Marya also good to stick with Hural as he pushes to cinch the deal. She'll also have a word with Hural to ask if there's anything in particular she can do, or focus on, that would be helpful for him. If not, she'll keep her usual perceptive watchful eyes open.

And yes, then, once that's done, very much up to celebrate.
