As you, the core members of House Heslin's intelligence apparatus confer, the battle rages overhead and all around you. You have a few options to enact Marcus' plan.

In Dune, warfare is treated much in the same way as regular conflict: you use Checks to utilize Assets, only in this case, the Assets might be whole squadrons. I've copied those actions above. Let's have each of you describe an action that you use to enact Marcus' plan, then make a D3 roll to accomplish that.

Your Assets include:
-Ornithopter force
-Infantry
-Mercenary Outfit (i.e., Star Cobra)
-House Bakhtier traitor
-player's choice (something I've not thought of)

Then make an appropriate roll for your character influencing that action. If you get all 3 successes or more, then you succeed as planned. 2 successes, and something will complicate the next action. 1 success or less and there will be a loss of the Asset to House Heslin.

The third action will be the one that plants the thumpers and possibly a shield generator in the midst of the Bakhtier command center, but the first two are your choices to enact the plan

OOC:
Rook is going to ask that the thopters drop thumpers on a time delay per Marcus, and he wants to accompany one of them in a thopter. So his position would be with the squadron. I am making a case for using his battle focus of dirty fighting since the thumper dropping is an improvised weapon from above. This being a last-minute plan makes a case for using Faith.

Rolls

Battle 7, Faith 7 - (2d20)

(319) = 22

Marcus, who is down on the battlefield with the troops, makes use of the Infantry to draw House Bakhtier's attention away from the ornithopters.
OOC:
Time seems to be of the essence here, so maybe his Make Haste talent should be used?

Using DUTY as he feels compelled to get this objective achieved for the sake of the soldiers and avoiding defeat for House Heslin.
MOVE should be self-explanatory.

Rolls

Marcus Syn: DUTY (6) MOVE (7) - (2d20)

(1019) = 29

Hural joins with Star Cobra's forces, laying an ambush to flank the troops led away by Marcus, should his plan go accordingly. He maintains comm contact with the Ornithopters as well, providing what tactical data he can from the ground to assist with any precision strikes they might make.
OOC:
Using Hural's Master-at-Arms talent to spend 1 momentum and increase the Ornithopters' Quality by +1.

Using Battle (focus: Strategy), and Duty (to house Heslin). It looks like, Q, you wanted D3 roll though? Adding an extra die in there (ignore the 3rd if I'm wrong).

Rolls

Hural Osaf: DUTY (7) BATTLE (6) - (3d20)

(201018) = 48

The battle goes badly. It starts off well, with the thumpers drawing the worm toward the House Bakhtier's control post. Unfortunately it takes a bit too long and their battle leader is able to drive the Heslin infantry right into the path with a series of explosions. Star Cobras mercenary band attempt to rally the infantry but a pivotal missile strikes them ending the mercenary band for good.

In the end, House Heslin's forces are decimated, and House Bakhtier is destroyed by the worm enraged by the thumpers and the warfare waged around it.
I'd like to thank each of you for sticking with this game, despite some inconsistencies in posting. I largely wanted to explore the world of Dune and how PCs might be drawn into the action. I think that the game has had some great moments, brought to life with your characters.

I'm the end though, I'm not sure that I really made it feel like Dune and I'm not sold on the arbitrary Difficulty system that underpins the rules.

I'd like to end it here, but if you want to discuss the game I welcome that.
