OOC:
@Ysolde: Which prisoner did Annelise shoot at with her foam gun?
Chaos has descended upon the shuttle. Dr. Mullins frantically tries to communicate with the pilots of the shuttle that things are amiss, while at the rear of the transportation vessel a small number of prisoners who have seemingly been plotting an escape/hijack of the vessel at hand make a desperate attempt at escaping the cage they are confined within.

As the prisoners push and pull against the cage's moorings, Corporal Riggs stands up and throws a blast of flamethrower at the inmates, which runs disastrously off-target, and blasts beyond the rioters. Luckily, the flame hits the plasticated wall behind the inmates. The wall melts and runs drippy down the back of the shuttle, but remains intact, though likely compromised.
OOC:
Have Riggs take 1 point of Stress as he realizes how his flamethrower has compromised the integrity of the ship's interior. Subtract 1 AMMO from his flamethrower.
Dodger immediately dashes and takes cover behind a row of seats.

Ellos-11 fires at the inmates. She's never been anything less than certain that her aim is true, but recent anomalies in her access and programming has left her off her game and as she squeezes the trigger on the escapees. The shot passes between the large man called Elmo and the smaller, long-haired man, and one of the smaller inmates sitting on the floor suddenly collapses, blood bursting from her throat.
OOC:
I need Ellos-11 to take 1 point of Stress and make a panic check, as she realizes she just killed an inmate uninvolved in the riot.
OOC:
Bud, you don't have to roll. You just say what you're doing, and in a case like this, I'll roll against my NPC's Instinct, which is sorta a catch-all for NPCs.
Elmer looks at Bud's scattergun and grins, wholeheartedly unafraid of the man's threats, or at the very least, less afraid of the scattergun than one should be at the prospect of spending the rest of your life on Prison Station Echo. He stands with his hands grasping through the cage's mesh.

From the front of the cabin, Dr. Mullins is barking desperately into the speaker, something-something about if you value your job, this and that...
"If you value your positions, I wouldn't provoke the ire of XeroCorp. They wouldn't take kindly if the ship lands and all of their new hires are dead. Now do something!"

"Eh, heh, heh, heh... You hear this asshole?, Mullins hears from the speaker, as one pilot seems to speak to his counterpart... Dumbass thinks XeroCorp cares whether him or his buddies, or any of the inmates even make it on-asteroid at all. Ha!
Mullins hears the other pilot chuckling in the background.
The pilot moves his mouth closer to the intercom speaker. Alright listen assholes... I don't know how the hell any of you boarded this shuttle with weapons on your person, but you should take a moment to realize that this entire cockpit is basically a freighter-class escape pod with a bus welded to the back. We could sit here and watch you all fire off every round you morons have and you'll likely decompress the cabin, set yourselves on fire, or otherwise murder one another, and I'll have five or six days of much-deserved vacation time while XeroCorp "investigates" the death of a handful of janitors, rapists, murderers, and malfunctioning droids nobody gives a shit about.
"I strongly suggest you stop shooting guns and flamethrowers inside our fracking ship, and either handle whatever shit-show you have going on back there, or space yourselves.

"Doesn't mean I won't blow a hole in your heart if you try to do anything.", he sneers.

OOC:
She picked one that was trying to move the cage.
Gun has 2/3 shots left and she has one more clip
She looks put out as she calls back, "Excuse me! I am a medical doctor. I was hired to treat prisoners. I was assured that janitorial work would only be on an as needed basis." She wondered exactly how much worth those assurances were here and now? If these pilots were being truthful would she even get paid?

She yelled at the prisoners shouting, "I have a vacuum suit! If you keep this up the hull will be ruptured and I will survive. Do any of you want to take the same chance?"

Elios-11 remains frozen in place. Something is terribly wrong with her programming. First, her security levels were removed and now she's firing at prisoners. She was a cleaning bot for Chrissakes! Her logic core must be damaged and she no longer trusted herself. Widened eyes weren't built into her facial anatomy but if they had, her blue eyes would be large globes of panic.
OOC:

As chaos continues in the shuttle, much to the pilots’ implied indifference, Annalise’s foam gun discharges at one of the inmates that was rattling at the cage and the foam hits the cage’s meshwork, passes through, and immediately coats the hands, chest, and face of the inmate, binding him to the cage. The inmate quickly tries to retreat from the attack, but the foam molecular structure bonds immediately with the air in the room and becomes a solid mass. Annalise can only stare as the man struggles to pull away from the cage, unable to free himself, or even breathe, and his muffled screams are only barely perceptible through the hardened compound, but for as slowly as his breath is in escaping the dried foam, it’s even slower at being drawn back in, and the man begins thrashing and convulsing uselessly, his feet kicking spasmodically as he struggles for breath.

Annalise immediately gives warning to the other inmates that they are at risk of triggering events that could compromise the integrity of the ship’s hull. Elmer only stands and grins defiantly. The long-haired inmate looks to Elmer for guidance, takes note that his companion ins;t to be persuaded, and begins pushing at pulling at the cage again, ignoring the thrashing of his fellow that’s suffocating in the foam encasing his face. But the other inmate that Elmer recruited for this attempt at escape first looks to the suffocating man, turns to the melted bulkhead behind him, considers Elmer’s scattergun, and promptly sits down, looking shamefully up at Elmer as if he knows he’ll have to answer to Elmer for his cowardice at some point in the future.

Elmer and Long-hair continue working in tandem at the cage. With only two of them now, their attempts at escape might take a while longer, but with probably close to a full twenty-four hours before their arrival on Prison Station Echo, time is still on their side.

Those not watching the prisoners’ escape attempt, or the man slowly suffocating as hardened foam covers his mouth and nose, notice Ellos-11, already an unsettling presence aboard the ship, acting twitchy as if whatever her processors are trying to make sense of is causing her distress. Nothing good ever comes from an Android acting twitchy or erratic, and nobody wants to be sealed inside a small metal tube for twenty-four hours if said Android goers full haywire.
OOC:
As a result of Ellos-11’s failed Panic roll, I need all others to take 2 Points of stress. Some of you should be getting somewhat high in stress levels by now. Some rest time may be in order once you get to the prison, assuming you survive the voyage.

"It’s supposed to be non-lethal. But why should it be any different from everything else as advertised lately. Sign up as a doctor become a janitor no one cares about. Simple flight and the prisoners are escaping. Well I’m firing again even if it isn’t non-lethal"

She takes aim at Elmer this time but, the second of her three shots goes way wide. One more shot and then one last clip of three. Hopefully she could aim better next time.
OOC:
I think she has 2 stress from Ellios now.

A lull in the hail of fire and flying death inclines Dodger to lift his head to take stock of the situation.

The big guy up front and his long haired lap dog were still shaking the cage. The first volunteer idiot had decided to sit down and the second idiot was in a full panic wail foam sealed to the cage. Dodger could see the back of his neck and back straining and convulsing to break free. It was an agonizing sight.

The janitor still had his scatter gun pointed at the big guy but if he hadn't fired yet, Dodger thought he probably wouldn't with out more warning.

The panic wailing continued.

The Marine was hard to see from his vantage, but the column of fire had missed Dodger and paused for then moment.

The wailing continued.

Dodger looked again at the panicked suffocating second idiot. He looked left and right to see if anyone was going to make a move. Everyone was frozen in place.

"Damn it.", he said with exasperation.

Dodger stood slowly, but confidently and walked to towards the cage holding the seat backs as he went for balance and grounding. When he got to the front, he extended both of his hands finding grips on the back and sides of the second idiot's head. Dodger yanked with all the strength in his arms to try and pull his face free of the foam.
OOC:
I'm guessing a strength check would be appropriate here.

Ellios-11 watches the chaotic scene continue to unfold. She wants to shoot the prisoners that are trying to escape but her body twitches spastically. The convulsions aren't strong nor are they consistent but the unsettling effect it has on her, and anyone watching, makes her become more agitated. She doesn't trust herself. Doesn't trust what her sensors are telling her. She lowers her rifle before she hurts anyone that she shouldn't and continues to watch in confusion.

OOC:
The big guy, Elmer, has a shot gun?
Bud glances to his side as the android starts to twitch and lower her weapon.

"Hey, you ok?", he says as a bead of sweat trickles down his forhead. He glances back at the big man and his little buddy.

No sign of slowing down and now the other prisoner, the bald one, seems to be trying to free the guy who has goop on his face.

"@##$", he says and puts the shotgun close to the bars, pointed at the big guy's midsection.

He pulls the trigger.

@Ysolde:
OOC:
Annelise Wolf, thats a critical failure.
Annelise attempts to fire the foam gun at the inmates again. This time the device malfunctions as one of the compound mixing lines splits open under pressure. Instead of discharging a quick-drying foam at her target, the side of the gun and Annelise’s forward hand are suddenly covered in the entirety of the foam canister. A large mass of ochre-colored glue, almost taffy-like in consistency, and extremely sticky, covers her and the gun, though without the hardening compound mixed in before discharge, it never solidifies. Annalise’s will have to repair the rubber line and give the gun a thorough cleaning, inside and out, before it’s usable. Until she finds some means of cleaning this compound off, everything for the next twelve hours is sure to be a sticky, uncomfortable mess.
OOC:
The gun has malfunctioned and cannot be used until it is cleaned and repaired and the entirety of this foam canistered has been ruined, leaving Annelise with one full canister left. I’m going to need her to take yet another point of stress for failing her Combat check, and all critical failures require a Panic check. That’s 1d20 OVER your current stress level.
@gtg626q: Dodger, seeing a brief lull in the shooting suddenly steps calmly forward and grabs hold of the man’s head and pulls it back from the cage work. The foam is really fastened to the mesh and for a moment Dodger can only hear the muffled scream of the prisoner, as he uses the very last remains of air to protest what he’s sure is his face being ripped off. Indeed, Dodger can see skin tearing at the sides of the inmate’s face and he continues to pull. Just as he begins to think perhaps it’s a lost cause, small fractures in the foam appear, and suddenly the dried foam compound tears away.
The man gasps as suddenly fresh air fills his lungs. One eye is still covered in the compound, as are his nostrils. Blood courses down each side of his face near his ears, and his freed eyelid as badly torn and bleeding as well, but at least he can get air. As he quickly stumbles to the rear of the cage, near the melted bulkhead, he looks at Dodger, perhaps with a look of astonishment at being assisted, and perhaps a degree of gratitude on his still-foam-caked face.

@MicrotheMacroBear:
OOC:
Considering you’ve just walked up to the cage and shot Elmer at point blank distance, while who did nothing to resist, and doesn’t’ really have room to run or take cover, I think you should get Advantage (+) to your Combat roll. Let’s keep the "72" result as your first roll, which is a standard fail. But with Advantage (+), make your second roll and take the better result.
@MaJunior:
OOC:
You won’t need to roll a panic check on account of the Android’s panic. You’ll only need to take the 2 points of stress art seeing her panic, if you haven’t already.
Apr 6, 2024 12:31 am
*pshhhhh* Is the sound the gun makes as it fails spectacularly. She doesn’t panic about it, she simply wipes her hand on her pants. When that doesn’t get the glue off she puts the gun away, then using her non-sticky hand she takes a bandage from her first aid kit and wraps it around the sticky hand so it doesn’t keep sticking to things.

With that done she goes to look for a way to open this thing up. Once she finds it she again looks to the crowd of prisoners. "HEY! Do I have your attention? I tried to be nice but, that didn’t work so let’s go with mean. This will remove all the air. I will use it if you escape. Any of you who want to live should stop the escape and start behaving. OR ELSE."

Mullis fumbles with his pack, making sure the Vacsuit and rigging gun are ready in case a quick escape is needed. Standing, he tries to yell over the chaos that has ensued.

"We need to keep it together! The shit is hitting the fan and I for one do not want to be shot into fucking space! Oh god..."

He tries to finish his thought as he watches the prisoner's face nearly tore off from the foam compound. He pitches himself to the adjacent seat and, finally, the biscuit comes back up as he pukes. Wiping his mouth on the back of his sleeve, he turns back towards the cabin door, once again making his way back to the front. He sets his pack next to the cabin door and takes a more detailed look, trying his best to keep an eye on the events unfolding behind him.
OOC:
The doctor will take a look at the cabin door to see if there may be a way to physically access the front of ship.
Apr 8, 2024 9:05 pm
Bud’s scattergun discharges at the big man at point blank, but to his dismay, somehow the gun kicks and the shot misses the mark entirely, buckshot shredding into another inmate sitting on the floor, tearing a massive hole through the man’s abdomen, as he slump to the side dead.
OOC:
1 point Stress for Bud, and a panic roll because you just murdered a man probably for the first time?
Having watched two of their fellow prisoners cut down, mostly due to sheer ineptitude on the part of the workers wielding firearms in the cabin, the majority of the inmates now retreated from the cage at Annalise’s threats. Some have begun cowering behind seats, or use one another as shields. Even Long-Hair stands a step or two back. The big man called Elmer, is not to be dissuaded, not even flinching as Bud’s shotgun blasts at him from only inches away. Instead he grins and starts attacking the cage with a renewed vigor.

The doctor looks again at the door. There’s no point of entry that looks as if it could be pried or forced. There’s a keypad with a palm reading mechanism installed, and presumably it’s programmed to read the hand prints of the pilot and co-pilot, but the door has been secured soundly against any attempted hijacking. No matter what chaos descends into the cabin area of this spacecraft, it’s designed to make a safe landing at it’s intended destination where presumably a team of beefy prison guards then takes over and gets everything under control while the pilots sit confortable inside the cockpit and wait for orders that the matter’s been resolved one way or another.

Elios-11 would frown if she could. The big man Elmer's behavior was abnormal. Ellios-11 being a tenacious android is still running programs through her database. The idea pops up that she run a reset, so she starts that running while assessing the situation in front of her. She's sure there is a connection between her corrupted database and the prisoners going wild. She just isn't sure what it is, and her database had been tampered with to prevent her from finding out what that connection was.
Apr 8, 2024 11:12 pm
She realized that this went to the cockpit and not pure vacuum of space. Apparently the design was through the cockpit, then into this room with no other entry or exit. She tugged on Ellos hand saying, "Help me out here Ellos. If we can hack the panel then we can get into the cockpit and lock ourselves away from those prisoners. I’m thinking they won’t be able to hack it nearly as well as you can."

In the meantime she did her own attempt at hacking the panel. Besides there were only ten digits and thus only so many possible combinations.

Dodger winces and jumps at the sound of Bud's scattergun going off. He looks over his shoulder to see another prisoner on the ground now torn to shreds. He turns back and looks at Bud through the cage, "Maybe you should put that away so you don't damage anything actually important."

As he calmly walks back towards his seat he eyes the long haired man giving him menacing nod of his head, motioning for him to sit down in a seat and leave well enough alone.
