When last of cubes are placed all nine cubes flare with light, then disappear. Growling like an angry beast, the slab begins to slide up into the ceiling.

Another slab blocks the hallway twenty feet beyond the first door. An iron lever is set into the door's surface, with a graven stone skull leering down from above.

Congrats, we are entering tomb. Going forward I would like to ask players to decide your movement order, distance to each other etc. I suggest players describe their PC movement in every detail. I may be deciding your movement for your PCs if you fail to provide movement details withing 24 hours from my previous post, let me know if you want more than 24 hour deadline

Tinkara flies up to this new door. She touches nothing. She examines the door, then the left wall, right wall, floor, ceiling. Does she notice any additional details, inscriptions, etc.?

Giving the new tunnel a once-over, Vatoris makes sure he doesn't see anything or detect any magic.
If he doesn't notice anything he calls out to the party.
"Everyone Ready? Pulling the lever. I don't know what will happen." Staying 30ft back, Vatoris uses his mage hand to pull the lever.

(18) + 6 = 24

Hearing Vatoris, Tinkara flies back out, and takes position 20 ft out and 20 ft up.

hmmm cramped in here Throgin says as he moves up to Vatoris and peers into the tunnel

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+4)

(18) + 4 = 22

Throgin and Vatoris notice a seam along the floor.
OOC:
Not narrating lever pulling because you only wanted to do it if you find nothing
[ +- ] Seam marked with green line

Wow... good catch! That has pit trap written all over it.
Mar 25, 2024 12:43 pm
"Hopefully that is all it is." Using the mage hand Vatoris pulls the lever!
Mar 25, 2024 2:18 pm
Pulling the lever cause floor between the two doors to split open along a central seam revealing a 20-foot-deep pit lined with spikes in it.
Mar 25, 2024 3:01 pm
Tinkara drops down to 10 ft. and looks to see if anything happened to the door itself.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20)

(8) = 8

"Good thing we were sharp enough to see that."He nudges Thorgin with his great pun...
After Tinkara checks out the pit he Uses the mage hand he flip the lever back to its normal position hoping the trap would close.
Mar 25, 2024 4:23 pm
Yeah...that fall would have hurt. I wonder if there is anything we can do to keep these shut or if they only open when the level is switched. Throgin smiles at Vatoris at the remark
Mar 25, 2024 4:42 pm
That's why I was wondering what happened to the door, if anything.

OOC:
@valdattaMadun please roll a wisdom check (no proficiency applicable) DC10 to see if your PC has any good idea how to prevent floow from falling if that is what you asked about
Flipping the lever back to its original position does nothing. More over, when you release mage hand the lever falls back down.
That's the only change to the environment you can observe.
The stone floor that collapsed weight more than you can hope to rise
OOC:
Since I can't imagine anything your PCs would be able to achieve and I don't want you to feel wrong about that I'm pushing events forward
You spend next hour in fruitless attempts to make any progress when suddenly hear the first door (the one you opened with the cubes) start slowly rising to seal off the passage once more. Everyone stay safely outside when it happens. Moment later you realize that the cubes are all gone. After some stressful argues you finally decide to check the shrines you for a big relief find the cubes returned to the shrines. It takes another hour though to collect them all back.
OOC:
So this is two hours later when you are back at closed first doors with 9 cubes. What do you do?

OOC:
the barbarian's wisdom let us see

Rolls

Wisdom check - (1d20+0)

(17) = 17

Mar 25, 2024 9:15 pm
OOC:
That's exactly for barbarian to understand that hammer spikes may prevent floor from dropping. Perhaps not for barbarian to count how many would suffice, but you would need to rise the floor first anyways.

Sounds like there's a time limit on that door. Let's open it again and see if the pit is still open. If so, I will fly into the tunnel and see if I can detect a way through. Maybe there's a door in the pit, who knows?
Mar 25, 2024 10:02 pm
"I agree. It doesn't look like opening the door again will... well... hurt. - Zean unintentionally scratched his left hand with his right... while looking at the big, heavy and magical door - "At least I don't think so." - he ended. Not sounding that sure.

"Indeed if the pit didn't close, there have to be another way in. I wonder if we can see something interesting on the next door, besides the unlucky lever and in the pit... or the celling?" - and that will be what Zean will try to check when the door open again, without entering the tunel, yet.

"I really hope it isn't next fake entrance. And it would be certainly interesting if the pit would be some kind of illusion... but I must admit, that I don't see the reason for that."

OOC:
My proposition, for "marching order" is: Thaddeus and Throgin could go first - as I presume they have the most hp? - and Zean would go right after/behind Throgin. So it leaves place next to him for Vatoris and Tinkara in middle between all of us. What you guys think?

Is Annex still playing with us?

I'm ok with deadline... but excluding weekends:D

OOC:
Hold on I am confused.
Clarifying statements/ questions.

Pull Lever down. Pit opens up.
Pull Lever up. Nothing happens.
We wait doing nothing but chatting and looking around for 2hr. During that time.
Door A rises back down and we end up back outside.
Cubes Reappear.

I am assuming we are either missing something or we put the cubes in incorrectly.

Vatoris might be better in the front due to traps.

OOC:
Yeah, in this case for traps "Saving throws" would be better for traps imo, maybe Zean actually with Resistance active would be a good candidate (or him casting on someone else)
