Tinkara laughs, a sound like the ringing of tiny bells.

I'm a lot of things, but super cautious is not one of them. No risk, no reward. No matter what you do, life is short.

My friends call me Tinks. I think you all qualify at this point.

Zean helps Tinks with inserting the stones in the sockets of the stone door. While doing so he comments:
"You are right Tinks, there are only 8 holes and we have 9 cubes... and that leaves us with flail snail cube... I wonder if that means something... it's earth creature... so maybe we have to look for something in the ground?"

So he adds a little louder, so the rest of his companions could hear him:
"Do you see any other socket, near the ground so we could use it with the last cube of flail snail idol?"

When they will end inserting 8 cubes and IF nothing will happen: Zean will look at the bottom of the door. And if there i.e. some layer of dirt/ground that could cover the door bottom he will try to uncover it.

@Smiley how far would Vatoris go in his exploration?
@WhiteDwarf @valdattaMadun what are your PCs doing while ? While Zean and Ixion seem to morally and otherwise assist Tinkara.
Would it be right to assume your 3 PCs are somewhere like this? Perhaps someone is observing smaller tunnel ?

As the others go into the passageway, Throgin steps back to allow the others to handle the puzzle solving. He draws his maul and starts slowly tapping the end of it on the ground while watching the gargoyles

Thad keeps his sword and wits ready. He steps forward jus5 a few feet, to observe the smaller tunnel.

OOC:
Vatoris gets a better look at the Obelisk but tries not too touch it. Besides looking around for any other clues or something we might have missed.

Strange, each skull has a small hole in it's mouth. Can barely fit a finger in. Zean announce while Tinkara is carefully putting the magic cubes in the sockets . An attempt to look into the hole reveal it is a feet long and ends in a stone.
Vatoris meanwhile notice more moss one one part of the obelisk at the height 7-3 foots. He obelisk is either damaged here or there is something engraved beneath because irregular surface would allow moss to develop.
OOC:
This is a weekend post so putting game on slow motion, will only describe what if anything happens when Tinkara complete her job on Monday. Spoiler - good thinking, something will trigger as you finish putting cubes in. But I'd like to keep an intrigue a bit longer

Hearing what Zean has said, Tinkara is careful to keep her small body out from in front of the skulls, i.e. in the center of the door as she finishes inserting the cubes.

Zean, I think it's best if you aren't in front of any of the skulls. My gut tells me something might come out of there when I'm done putting these cubes in.

Vatoris approaches the obelisk and uses his mage hand to clear off any moss...

"Perhaps those of us who can move objects with our minds should insert the last boxes from afar," Ixion suggested. "Can we borrow you a second, Bunte?"

Thanks for pointing out those holes GM - as I completely forgot about them, but I'm quite sure Zean would take a look at them:)
"I hate to say it... Tinks but you seam to be right... again" - Zean announces before starting to move slowly, departing from the stone doors, but walking backwards, his face turned towards the door with concentration on the skull's "mouths" and reaching into his belt pouch to pull out a few legume seeds and getting ready to cast the Gust of Wind spell.

"BUT... as there is only stone on the other side of the holes clearly visible... it may be some kind of poisonous gases trap, rather than projectile one... so... your very elegant body size can be not enough to avoid it... so the idea about Vatoris tricky hands probably is the best one. In case I'm right this time... and something happens... keep to the center of the door and hold tight... I will be ready with the power of wild winds, that always precedes the proper Storm... "
OOC:
If Thaddeus walked towards smaller tunnel, Zean - I think - would stand next Throgin now. Nodding to him as he would like to say "Ready? Let's do it, like we always do it. With proper BANG! " ;) ;)

can only do proper post tomorrow. Meanwhile if anyone want to add anything because I read Zean abandon the short tunnel before cubes are placed. Only Ixion stays with Tinkara
Clearing moss with mage hand will be slow if posssible at all. We will get back to that later.

OK this is
[ +- ] your final position
before this happens
The moment Tinkara insert all 8 cubes and release the last with a loud cracking sound and shaking the ground a stone block descends over the tunnel entrance preceded by huge amount of sand and tiny boulders.
OOC:
If Tinkara or Ixion want to exit the tunnel or if Zean or Throgin want to enter it - that action would require a successful DC 10 Strength (Athletics) check. Everyone - please let me know your choice in either case.
P.S. No you don't notice any kind of kind of poisonous gas coming our of the holes. What I described above it the only change to the environment
[ +- ] Where it descends

Throgin spots the stone decending down and immediately attempts to open it back up Tink....Ixion, I got you.

Rolls

Strength check - (1d20+4)

(19) + 4 = 23

Could you please elaborate your action a bit. The stone block is a few feet thick. I calculated it would weight about 30 000 lbs, that's a little bit more than you can Lift, isn't it? Not sure my math is correct, but I'm sure even 6 of you wouldn't be able to lift that stone block.

OOC:
I think I misunderstood the check. Are you saying that to enter/exit the Athletics check is needed to open a sliver of it? could I hypothetically use the stength check to ALLOW someone to escape (even if one person only)
Mar 12, 2024 9:13 pm
OOC:
All right, since Throgin scored above 15 you could chose one PC and give an advantage on Athletics check for the movement

lets give it to Tink

Does Tinkara have time to cast her Far Step spell before the slab descends? It's a bonus action to cast that spell. Ruling please.

That's kind of you, but if I can cast a bonus action spell I won't need it, assuming that I want to get out of there.
