I was thinking the different things we found would be used for different challenges rather than putting them all on the altar. If we want to go try them all, we certainly can.

I were just trying to move this story forward. I'm sorry if that was not helpful.

OK we are still in the same room and I'm waiting to see an action from any player to narrate.

No worries, this is one of those games where no one wants to be the one to make a wrong move and get body slammed by 50 points of damage so we are all playing it cautious, waiting for someone else to be the sucker.

I don't mind trying if I have an idea but if not then . . Someone else go out let's skip it

Well. Tante. You at least don't smell like a frog. :) Still a ribbert'ing experience.

@mathias0077 if you are using a 2nd level spell slot instead of 1st, you can roll another 1d12

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the initial damage increases by 1d12 for each slot level above 1st.

That would also be helpful if you provide damage type to me in future (I've already checked it lightning) just as WanderOne did. At such high level combat encounters it is common for enemies to have quite a few resistances, some immunity and some vulnerability for me to apply.

@Psybermagi
That'interesting question seems you are not first to as
What happens when Polymorph is cast on a creature already affected by Polymorph?

While this and few other forums refer to the Player's Handbook, page 205, I am cool to ignore that rule because Tante Lude isn't really under the spell effect.
Nevertheless there is a different issue - spell specifically say
Quote:
The new form can be any beast whose challenge rating is ...
And beast in DnD is a creature type other than humanoid. Basically Polymorph turns something into an animal.

So I suggest you to edit your last post and choose different course of action.

Swapped to dispel magic, up cast to 4th

Please make an ability check using your spellcasting ability - add a wisdom check to your post. When I wrote OOC " as though it had failed a saving throw against the polymorph spell" is mean as though. It's not that spell, but with good enough roll you will end the effect

Yeah I thought there might be a catch, still with the try though. Gack 13 with straight wisdom,. Add 4 if proficiency bonus is allowed
Apr 16, 2025 5:48 pm
No, Dispel Magic and Counterspell use a non-skilled ability check with no Arcana proficiency bonus.
Bards can add half their proficiency bonus to the check thanks to Jack of All Trades.

Hint: Look at spells helping with ability checks Enhance Ability, Guidance if you have time to prepare for dispel.

Grrr Acererak.

[ +- ] 3 Dispel Magic
I up cast at 4th hoping it was 4th level since that negates the need for the check. If it's higher then well.... We'll see what happens
