OOC:
Idid not find much in term of image. So on the Circus map you are at the green marker, more or less.

On the Forest map, we will ignore the big path, for there is only a small path in the forest about were is the marker.

I did forget to make a check to know if you see the snakes or not, so I do it now.

Initiative : Vespera, Marta, Giant Viper, Gray, Viper (Last check is Vespera initiative)

Vespera & Marta you may post for your actions (You may answer out of turn since you are in the same non monster spot)

Let's begin round 1. You couldn't the snake from afar, it is a regular viper hidden in forest foliage.
If Gray and Martha can spot the viper, none can find where the giant snake can be.

Rolls

Viper hidden - (1d20+5)

(17) + 5 = 22

Giantviper hidden - (1d20+8)

(3) + 8 = 11

Perception (wis) - (1d20+3)

(19) + 4 = 23

OOC:
OK, I am assuming Martha sees where the small snake is.
The red-haired dwarf wastes no time when she spots the snake slithering forward. She throws out a couple of jabs, but concentrates on keeping its fangs from sinking into her.
OOC:
Action 1: Stumbling Stance
Action 2: Flurry of Blows
Action 3: Raise a Shield (+2 AC)

The small check did not stand a chance, both hits hit and the second with a greater force. The small snake is knocked out.
OOC:
6 + 3x2(crit) = 12 damages

Vespera your turn, for now you do not see the large viper. Do you wait and prepare for areactioni or just do something on your turn ?
May 19, 2024 8:16 am
Vespera waits until the Giant snakes appears.

And appear he does dropping from a nearby tree on the characters.

Vespera react quickly and tries to cut him with her shortsword (her glaive been too bulky)

Three attacks, only the first one strike, this devil of snake is quite fast. The snake's wound does no seem very important on such a large animal.

Rolls

Shortsword - Atk 1 - (1d20+7)

(20) + 7 = 27

Atk 2 - (1d20+3)

(4) + 3 = 7

Shortsword - Atk 3 - (1d20-1)

(19) - 1 = 18

Shortsword - Dmg - (1d6+4)

(3) + 4 = 7

The snake is on the ground, attacks Vespera once, and then coils ready to strike again.

Luckily for her, she is able to dodge the bite !
OOC:
Gray's turn

Gray tries to keep calm at the sight of the snake, he loads a crossbow bolt, fires at the snake, and then grabs another bolt and loads it to be ready to fire again if need be. Based in the size of this thing, there will definitely a need.
Gray

1d20+6 : (19) + 6 = 25

1d8 : (4) = 4

Alas for Gray who is preparing his range attack the snake coiled take the opportunity to attack Gray, who is able to step aside to safety.

His bolt hit the snake who barely feels it.

OOC:
i though i had to use an action to load the crossbow the first time? If not, I'll use my 3rd action to move away from the snake
May 25, 2024 4:53 pm
OOC:
Move away may provoke an opportunity attack for the snake, you may also take a hand weapon for melee fight.
May 25, 2024 6:43 pm
OOC:
If Gray was close to the snake, then yes, I'd still like to move away. I'd rather releod the crossbow than switch weapons right now
May 25, 2024 8:21 pm
Ok so Far 1-You shot the snake. There is 2 more actions to go (you may step aside and move back for 2 actions, disengaging safely.)
May 25, 2024 10:24 pm
OOC:
sounds good, Gray will disengage
May 26, 2024 9:44 pm
Round 2: Martha and Vespera engaged by the snake. Matha your turn, I'll play vespera after.

While the snake attempts to take a bite out of Vespera, Martha dances around to attack from behind.
OOC:
Action 1: Raise a Shield (+2 AC)
Action 2: Step / Stride (if Step won't bring Martha to a flanking position, she will Stride instead; -2 enemy AC)
