Felskrudd mutters under his breath. "Oh gods! Oh gods! Oh gods!" He clinches his fists so hard, the knuckles goes white. It takes all his focus to not run away immediately. Or even soil himself in fear. Too scared to act, he waits for the rest of the group to make the first move.

The armored skeleton moves to the portcullis and begins to pass slowly pass though it. *(You all have one round of actions before it is through and we draw initiative).

OOC:
I feel like we have reached an impasse. Out of character, I feel like we should fight but in character Browyn is scared.

OOC:
Lothar failed his as well. Mechanics question -- *can* we fight if we've failed those checks, or do we have to flee? Looking at the rules, I think perhaps we just need to apply the affects from the table. Lothar's Willpower is down to 1, but I think he can now act 'normally,' correct? If so:
Doing his best to steel his nerves, Lothar steps forward to meet the ghastly thing. Sword and shield are up and at the ready as he attempts to draw the thing's attention!

"Rally! Let's knock this moldering pile o'bones apart!"
OOC:
Trying to grab it's focus, the idea being to Parry it's attacks.

OOC:
I think I'm getting it now. Not losing agency here by failing, but I've now got both Angry and Disheartened marked on Lothar's sheet -- meaning all those attached skills are affected, rolling at Disadvantage.

Here's a question: is there time before the baddie engages for Lothar to take a Round Rest to try and recover some WP? I've been looking for what happens when you run completely out of WP, but I'm not seeing a clear answer in the rules.

As you well you hear down the corridor Elaria and Browyn heading you way with them saying, We heard you and are on our way .
OOC:
You can take a round rest if you wish or attack but cannot do both. I amn making a judgment call on the situation you find yourself in. You can rally but are slightly demoralized.

OOC:
Lothar will take a Round Rest if he can do that before we pull cards and start combat. If he can't, he just planning to Parry.

Felskrudd draws out his sling and tries to put a little distance between himself and the creature.

(You can take the round rest)

The figure finally makes it through the gate and lifts his sword.

Felskrudd loads a rock in his sling and sends it flying at the creature. He has little hope it will do anything, but still it's all he can think of doing as fear still grips him.

Rolls

Sling CS14 - (1d20)

(4) = 4

Sling - (1d8+1d4)

Having taken a moment to steel his nerves as best he can in the face of such horror, Lothar raises his shield and moves forward, trying to draw the attention of the undead fiend.

"Strike at this ugly bastard!" the man yells, preparing to block or dodge any coming attack. "Elaria! Use your magics!" the man calls hopefully!
OOC:
Can Lothar Block this attack with a shield? If not, and it attacks, he’ll Evade… and possibly use *Adaptive* to use a different skill in its stead.

Felskrudd hits the wight solidly with his sling though it seems to damage him, the armor seems to take the brunt of the damage.

The wight lifts it hand and points towards Felskrudd and with a burst of energy throws him back 3 meters knocking him prone (3hp damage).

Elaria nods her head to Lothar to use magic to attack the wight.

A Ball of fire forms in her hand and she unleashes it towards the wight. You can see that she takes a little extra time before sending it flying. The fires hits the wight and it howls in pain as the fires seems be powerful against it.

The wight turns towards Elaria giving her a withering glare. She looks to start to become afraid but in the last moments seems to shake it off.
OOC:
Krisanna has not posted recently but I am going to give her a day or so to post or I will go for her.

Krisanna out of the dark of the tunnel throws a knife at the wight. It sticks into his armor but doesn't look like it did much damage.

Seeing that the horror loathes magic, that Elaria's spellfire hurt the thing, Lothar calls for more of it from the woman. Using his buckler, he tries to bash the monster, just to get it's attention to get it to turn from the mage and present its flank or back to her...
OOC:
Trying to lure & maneuver the thing into being vulnerable to Elaria and the others.
Oct 27, 2024 3:26 am
OOC:
Wasn't sure how to rule on your lure. it isn't persuasion but more of a feint. make an attack roll and if you succeed you trick it into exposing itself to the mage which will make if even more vunerable to the damage
