As you enter the caverns you see that there are wooden support beams throughout the cavern, some are in better condition than others. Those who put these up have long since abandoned them and are not working to maintain. They seem sturdy enough.

She picks up the silver where the slimes had been and catalogs it in her notes. After that she follows the others keeping her delicate sight away from the flames so that they don't ruin her vision.

You look down the tunnel in front of you. It is haphazardly propped up by makeshift frame made from the wooden struts. The timeworn frame creaks audibly, and dust occasionally showers down from the ceiling into the tunnel. It looks like it could collapse at any moment.
As for the question on darkvision, I have never treated light as affecting darkvision personally so mechanically it wouldn't have an affect but I like it as a roleplay aesthetic too so don't worry about it.

Sorry again, I think I was more sick from my son than I was allowing myself to think kept coming to this game without energy to do what I needed. Keeping her crossbow ready, the snow coloured mapach pulls her hood a little deeper. This place has a special smell, and Sherry doesn't mind it. It smells like an ambush. Still hidden the freshly baked adventurer makes up the rear.

I always just assumed too much sunlight dried them out. Like salamanders and such. They do seem to like dark wet area from what I know.

Dusting off her shoulders and cloak, Sherry looks over to Hurin after he got hit, but to her delight the fellow mapach seems mostly alright. Helping him up to this feet, the young adventurer winks encouraging at her comrade and mumbles: "Could have been much worse. Let's go and find us some researchers."
