[Gameplay] 7. The Search for the Forgotten Pharoah

"Okay Andromeda, don't let them get ahead!" Tabat wheels his chariot into the other, trying to damage its wheels.

Andromeda bangs the unknown chariot off the course and into a fruit vendors stall, then Tabat follow Iseret's shortcut down a side street. They see the low hanging clotheslines and duck under but then find themselves going down stone stairs. They hold on for dear life.

Khadi and Jaware follow behind, easily avoiding the wreck and then ducking under the same strings. But when they get to the stairs, it's all they can do to not fall out of the cart and they lose some valuable ground.

Tricky Maneuvers
At the bottom of the stairs, you need to make a sharp corner or scrape along the rugged stone wall.

Passing through the shadow of a tall building, crossbow bolts rain down on you from hidden snipers.

Drivers and riders each make a Reflex save DC 25 and if you fail, a Fortitude save DC 20.

Crowded Market
What kind of shortcut is this! You have to cut through a market square. Shoppers and strollers alike dive out of the way, but in the billowing smoke from incense fires, can see see your way through?

Perception DC 15 to pick an easy path or Intimidate DC 20 to cut through the crowd

Tabat attempts to manage the corner with us made grace as possible, "Ho there, Andromeda! Careful now!"

As the crossbow bolts being to shower over them, he attempts to dodge and avoid them the best he can.

Iseret defers to Tabat for handling Andromeda, knowing that the camel will obey his orders better than her own. When the snipers rain crossbow bolts down upon them, she hugs close to Tabat, hoping that the chariot sides will shield them. Cutting through the market square, she tries to pick out the most effective path.

'Good camel, we're doing well.. Okay so they had nearly fallen out, but they were still in the cart. Khadi focuses on driving, so much so the crossbow catches her offguard and one catches her as she lets out a surprised grunt of pain..

'What the.. who wants to win a race that bad?! What kind of person...? She tries to keep hold of the reigns

Jaware from the back of the chariot keeps his eyes out.

Tabat tries to navigate the corner, but Andromeda can't hold the racing chariot, which crashes against the wall hard, and tips over - they have to spend a little time righting it. Khadi and Jaware have better luck, timing the corner, leaving hard into the turn right to pass through at speed.

When arrows rain down, Khadi and Jaware take crossbow fire from a roof, and Khadi feels sickened, her stomach churning. Tabat and Iseret similarly take those shots, but it is Iseret who gets the brunt of it.

Jaware tries to point out their way throw the crowd but find themselves slowed to a crawl before they make their way out. Iseret's sharper eyes find a better path and they catch up to the other two.

As you get toward the finish line you see the main road converging with yours. A trip of chariots close from that direction, the others must have fallen behind, and it seems you might crash into them

Do you play chicken, (Handle Animal or Profession: Driver DC 25), or do you fake them out (Bluff DC 25)?

"Alright Andromeda! Show them we're not afraid!" With his words, Andromeda pushes forward toward the finish line - if one of them is going to pull back, it won't be his chariot!
