Two of the creatures rush around a corner, nearly entirely silent, and testing across the ground for you. They're clearly in a kill or be killed mood. Only, where's the third you heard?

You can all act first, either delaying until they're in the range you want, or even into melee range. Jaware will fire at the hounds you see.

Tabat steps back to remain next to Khadi. "Stay close, the other might be trying to come up behind us." He braces his spear out in front of him, preparing for the creatures to rush him.

OOC:

Tabat will hold attack, wait for them to come to him and hopefully allow Iseret to move into a flanking position before he strikes. He otherwise wants to remain close by Khadi's side in case the third creature comes up behind them.

Khadi is definitely not opposed to Tabat stick close, as she looks around carefully, ion guard, racking her brains about what they may be.

One of them stands back and bays, a horrible sound that excites in your hearts with primal terror - fortunately, you've stayed yourselves to this effect and are not stricken witless.

The second lunges at Tabat, biting and slapping with its tail, not gonna his armor too thick.

Tabat and Khadi would have done a fair bit of damage to the second shadow mastiff, but it's shadowy form proves difficult to pin down.
