Khel's face was twisted in fear and disgust when he saw the creature climb up the platform and approach him. He quickly sent another flaming bolt at the goblin.

He started to step back and climbed down the stage, as he heard Mr. Li's jest. "Looks like I have overstepped the attention and it's my time to leave the stage, Mr. Li. This fan is not quite happy with my performance at least!"


Wounds: 0 Toughness: 5 Parry: 4 Bennies: 2


OOC: Taking -1 for conserving power points. Thats a bad damage roll, spending a benny to reroll. Taking a move action to step back the way and climb down the stage.

Wess tries to help out Grimwulf with an intimidating word in the goblin’s direction, though he is repaid by a hammer to the back of the head.

Chigaru shakes off his wounds and is able to get back in action.

Li steps to the side and slashes a goblin in the side, a mortal wound.

Khel exits stage left, but not before sending another bolt flying at the goblin in front of him. It yells in pain, though its armor take most of the sting out of the attack.

Saldrina sends a bolt flying at the warcaster, who seems to be ready for it and is able to take cover from the worst of it.
OOC:
Sadly the crit miss is auto hit another target (if there still had been other goblins around the odds would be in your favor, but alas). Wess takes the 15 damage which will be 1 wound with your high toughness. You can spend a bennie to soak if you want (if you do, you need to roll a TN 4 Vigor check).

Luna and Chigaru left to act.

With a quick thanks to Irori, Chigaru aims a spinning kick to the side of the goblin's large head.

Chigaru lets loose with a spin kick that knocks the wind out of the warchanter.

Luna strides over to the goblin next to Grimwulf, and with one heavy slice, she almost split it in two.

The last goblin takes a heroic leap of the stage in an attempt to stab Li in the head. Li merely side steps, causing the goblin to hit the ground hard. His dogslicer stabs into the ground and while it struggles to get it free Li manages to take it out.

Meanwhile on the other end of the battlefield, between the might of Grimwulf, Chigaru, Wess and Luna the warchanter stands no chance.
OOC:
Botted Luna, she rolled well and was able to take out another goblin.

Ending the encounter here, as it looks like a foregone conclusion that you will win this one. You have a few moments to catch your wind and roleplay a little.

"I must admit your head crushing was pretty effective," Chigaru says to the halfling with the gigantic maul. He kneels down at the warchanter's side and sees he is still breathing. "This one is still alive. We should restrain him until he awakes, then ask him some questions. A goblin raid on such an auspicious day seems unlikely to be a coincidence." Chigaru tears down some streamers and bunting and uses the string to tie up the unconscious goblin.

"Too right, now if we can just make sure he saves those for the enemies" Wess says with a chuckle, rubbing the still sore spot where the halfling hit him. "My name's Wess Torgos, and today was a terrible testament to my skills with an axe" he says, putting Dawn's Light away, mostly out of shame, and collecting his hand axe from the ground. "but you had some pretty deft moves yourself out there. When I spied you on the battlefield with no weapons, I must say I thought you were done for."

Khel walked up to Li and Saldrina after the goblins were dispatched. "Quite a raid, I must say. I wonder whether Sandpoint is raided often? Or is it today that happened. How did they get past the town guards though? Anyway, I must admit your foot work and skill with the blade is exemplary, Mr. Li. Also, nice to meet you lady . . . " Khel looked at the halfling woman standing in front of him. "You are familiar with the arcane arts, I can see. Have you studied magic somewhere? Ah! I apologise for not introducing myself. I am Khel Turbane, a scholar of Magic."

Grimwulf takes a step toward the unconscious goblin, maul raised upward for a killing blow, before realizing that the fight is over. He takes a few breaths and the rage recedes back to the primal corners of his brain, out of sight, but never entirely out of mind, so to speak.

Looking at Wess, he shrugs, "Sorry about that, hard to...control sometimes. Glad you're okay though.". To Chigaru, "Appreciate it, big guy," then looking around, "Your dog get eaten?"

The big half-orc shakes his head. "Entrusted her to a family in a house nearby. I will retrieve her after I am satisfied the danger has passed. Where is the town watch? This one needs to be imprisoned until he is conscious again and can be questioned."

Placing his boot on one of the goblin's hands and applying some pressure, "Doesn't he need working hands to weave his spells? Perhaps we break one to wake him up and question the bastard after?" applying slightly more pressure.

Chigaru frowns at the unnecessary violence. "He also needs to speak so perhaps just gagging him would be enough. Evil deeds create evil people. I hope we can agree that torture is evil."

Pausing for a moment as the half-orc's words sink in, the halfling removes his boot and eyes Chigaru, "Aye, we can."

Sheathing his maul, he lifts the goblin over his shoulder in a fireman's carry. "I'll take him over there. I need to swing by and check on Bilivar anyways. Shall we meet somewhere after? My vote's on Hagfish, nothing like a little gambling to soothe ones nerves, ey dwarf?" Grim says half jokingly.

"Thank you Mr. Khel. Your talents are as impressing I must say." - Li bowed and stated a compliment with a tone as it would be dry fact of reality, apparently getting back to his to-the-point attitude - "You are right we have to get to know what happened to town guard? Why this attack reached the center of town? There have to be some people appointed as guards? Don't they? I think I saw some of the town official near the entrance to the temple. Maybe they will have some answers for us?"

Noticing that Khel is introducing to halfling woman standing nearby:
"My apologies Lady." - he bows deeply - "My name is Li Xingchi. I must say that having you both - Mr. Khel and you - on my side on the battlefield, provided me with even greater peace of mind than that provided by my blade alone."

"I'll go along with you" Wess says to the halfling, "The sooner we get this Goblin locked up, the sooner I can get a proper drink." Wess could definitely use a drink, but after that rant, he was a little worried that the Goblin wouldn't make it safely "Don't think I caught your name, or the name of that mighty hammer that blindsided me."

Khel bowed back to Li. He tried his best to do it in the manner Li did because he didn't want to insult the mannerisms of Minkai. The customs were a bit different in Qadira but intention and emotions were evident from the actions. He held a great deal of respect for the man and it was probably a start of good friendship considering now that he was going to stay longer in Sandpoint than initially expected.

"We should also check on the Mayor Deverin and Father Zantus. Last I saw them huddled up on the entrance of the cathedral."

Saldrina smiles at Li and offers a short bow, much as he himself did. She had heard that the people of Minkai had strange mannerisms. "Please, call me Saldrina. I agree with the gentleman. We should check the cathedral. I suspect that was the target of this raid."

"Pleasure to meet you, Miss Saldrina." - someone could almost swear there was a little smile in the corner of Li's mouth. Could it because of his judgment of the way his companions answered his bows? Could there be a little details about their versions that were not exactly the way Minkai people makes them? No one could guess if that would be the case.

"So we are heading towards cathedral entrance?" - not waiting for answer he made few first steps, then stops, turns back and his companions and asks: "Yes? I meant: now."

You do not get far before the sheriff and a handful of deputies comes running from the south. He lets out a curse word in shoanti, though seeing you he seems to relax a little. He runs over to you. "Good job!" he says looking at the dead goblins scattered around the village center.

"We need to keep the pressure. Drive them out of the town. Can I count on deputizing you in the town's aid?"
