session 0 - Powered character?

Powered Characters are group controlled NPCs with special powers. Think ET (ET) or Eleven (Stranger Things).
Rules on how they are controlled and how powers work go here if we decide to use them.

Rolls for power checks have been changed in 2E.

Often groups kinda prefer not to use them.

Do we want power characters?

I guess my answer would be: it depends on the story. I wouldn't start play with a powered character right from the start, if we are ordinary kids in an ordinary town.

But if the adventure and investigations lead to an encounter with a powered character, and if we managed to befriend them, then why not! (don't think that it would work if the Powered NPC is hostile, right?)

I feel like I'm in the same camp as DR_B here. If there's a really good reason, I'm all for it, but it's not something I think we need in the game.

I would prefer if powered characters are used very sparingly, or not at all. Else it's too much risk of them eclipsing our characters, or us running to them to solve all our problems.

No power characters to begin with and if they get added, they'll have a small part. Works for me.

Wise words, I'm entirely in agreement.
