I purched urban shadows as an impulse buy, and it looks pretty interesting to me. I'd like to run a game here since my IRL group just started shadowrun.

Urban shadows is a game where you play a supernatural creature (or a human that is Aware or maybe has some ability yourself) and you work against the other supernatural factions in the city for power and influence. it's a game of accruing favors, shifting alliances, and manipulation.

as this is made with the same system that brought us dungeon world, the players all have a chance to have a role is shaping the game world and circumstances. I would like to run a game set in Portland, Oregon though. mostly because the thought of hipster werewolves makes me giggle.

I'd be interested, though I don't have the books (and only have a vague understanding of powered by the apocalypse).

I think the main book is on drivethrurpg for 11 bucks

I like the idea of Powered by the Apocalypse games, but have never actually played one. I'd be down to play.

Apocalypse World was the system that got me into tabletop, so hell yeah I will play.

I will look at the book and if it is interesting enough for me I will play, but dont count me as a definite yet.

I would post some rules for the game for people who want to play, but I don't know how much I can post without violating copyright

PbtA is awesome, so I am very interested! I should say that I am in too many games (over 2 dozen) but with aonly a couple of exceptions all of those games have ground to an inexplicable halt over the past month. So it looks like I have space for a new one.

Having said that though, work has got me tied down for the entire week. So depending on when you want to start this, count me in, maybe.

If I remember correctly, the devs are open to anyone playtesting their game. Shoot them an email and they'll probably be on board with you posting the rules, or just emailing them out.

$11 for a game book... I might have to seriously consider this prospect....

I found free downloads on their website that has free player booklets, a free moves list, and stuff for the GM. check it out!. I think this is all someone familiar with apocalypse world needs... it's at least enough to maker a character.

since it looks like there are some interested folks, I'll create the game now, but won't start it for a couple of weeks. character creation is quick and simple, but building the game world and how the players are interconnected is collaborative and takes time. I want to spend a lot of time on it so we can develop some really deep stories.

as long as we have three players, we have a game. I want to limit it to 5 at the most.

Sounds interesting and I'm always willing to try new systems.

Don't know if it helps, but if you're curious about US, I have the beginnings of my game for perusal. I will say that I like the game a lot so far, and we haven't even really played yet!

If anyone wants to check out game setup, you can see rules, our char gen discussion, and the pre-session start up. I will say that in RL, char gen and pre-session take about half an hour and 15 minutes respectively, unlike our weeks of back and forth....

Taej, this is wonderful! I was wondering why I didn't know there was an US game already up, but I see it was for your IRL group.

do you mind if I steal copy the rules descriptions and paste them in my thread? no sense in reinventing the wheel...

Yeah, please, take it! I don't know if the way I organized things is the best, but it seems to work. "Good enough for Gov'mint work."
