[Open] D&D5e Vampire Hunter Game.

We lost another player, he ghosted us. Looking for a replacement. The group is currently level 2.

Hill Dwarf Monk

Human Bard
Owlin Celestial Warlock

They could use a Rogue or another caster.

I love rogues to be honest. Always wanted to try out an arcane trickster (once the game progresses to level 3 of course). Quite the happy-go-lucky-adventurer type. She is a bit of a scammer, but more for the sports and to get a cheap beer or free night at the inn, rather than for really bad stuff.

Since things didn't work out with someone and another player has just disappeared, I am looking for two new players to join the game.

I would be interested. I would be willing to step back and wait what others want to play and fill a void. My favorite classes in no particular order are

Basic character concept: Human fighter (hear me out!). He's a young man that got his skills from training under his retired veteran father whenever he wasn't working at the local pub/smithy/what have you. Due to recent events, his father was taken by the vampires under suspicion of being a resistance member. He desperately wanted to attempt to stop them, but his mother kept him back so she wouldn't end up losing him as well. Afterward, he's kept up his work to support himself and his mom, but he noticed her grief despite her best efforts to hide it. He'd want to join up with the party so he could possibly find his father and bring him home.

So, sorcerer or rogue are what the party could use the most as it is currently a Fighter, Barbarian, Bard, Warlock.
So the party is level 2, about to be level 3 and still dealing with the fallout of their village being destroyed. The party doesn't need another fighter. Did you by chance have an idea for a cleric or Paladin?

@Azule86 you could probably need to help players understand how a cleric (and even a paladin) be reasonable low level PC in the settings
It did prevent me even considering cleric and I was surprised to learn in game thread that paladin is OK.

I never said any class was not allowed. Nobody asked if I was actually not allowing those classes.

Ah, okay. Well, I think I can salvage most of my original idea to make the pivot to a future Oath of Vengeance Paladin. His father forced him to hide the whispers of divine power he showed, but he knew he wouldn't be able to protect him forever, so he at least taught him how to fight. His father is still taken under suspicion of being a resistance member and never returns. The destruction of Smyrton would be a solid reason for him to swear vengeance against the vampires.

I keep wandering into this thread, looking to see who was joining, and wondering how a cleric might survive in such a world. This is what I've come up with...

Even in a remote town, some families lived even farther on the fringe, distance and isolation keeping them far hidden from the dark things. A small shrine, well hidden in a holy grove which dark things unconsciously avoided. Only a few families knew of its location and they never gathered in numbers. Each newly born member, brought to the shrine at the age of one, during the longest day of the year as the sun was at its brightest - to gain the blessing of the light.

Families living as hunters and herbalist, trading with the town infrequently. Secrets of faith taught only in whispers and only during the brightest of daylight. The old ways of faith passed from generation to generation, quietly.

But even in this, no one had been touched by the goddess in generations... until now.

Might be an interesting background for ranger/cleric style character - either multi class or full cleric. Hermit background. Herbalist, healer, archer.
