Group Background Collaboration (Optional)

Here is a space where (if you want to) collaborate on group dynamics. Remember all characters start as an established party that have been working with each other for some amount of time.

While I plan on running the module, as written as best I can, I know that I find it fun to do this with groups and I am sure others do to

Well, I'm planning on Paladin. I want to smite with a massive mecha sword.

I'm playing an evocation wizard, so my fireball won't hurt anyone else. If we were playing level 6, a small part of me would want to take advantage of a build I've wanted to play just for fun, but since we are level 5 it's just a simple evocation wizard. I'm not planning on doing a lot of buffing, though I am trying to decide if I should bring magic weapon or enlarge/reduce. Character creation only mentioned mundane gear, so i'm leaning toward magic weapon. I also have fly prepared, but may just cast fireball twice. We'll have to see.

Planning a half-orc monk. Perhaps he joined the group when he was helping with the same quest and mutual decision it’s better to work together. The quest worked out well and, as a wandering monk, it would be much easier to travel with a group, especially with potential prejudices?

Not a problem with an ORC. icky smelly...Oh. Half Orc... Less icky smelly. And no she doesn't speak the language.

Hi, all!
Sticking with my aasimar aberrant mind sorcerer concept. I think the 'do good, help people' and 'I want to see everything in Creation' sides of him led to adventuring, and he hooked up with the group several adventures ago.

@valdattaMadun Just confirming that, at the very least during character creation, we are not starting with magic items, right? I'm not asking if the one shot will be granting any. Just that we won't be starting with any. It affects my spell choice. Yes magic items = enlarge/reduce. No = magic weapon.

I also wanted to point out that at least someone has expressed interest in starting with a Feat granting background. The usual rule is that if you do not want to do so, you can select the a free feat at level one as well (variant humans would get 2 feats at level 1, everyone else gets 1).

I am ok with or without a feat at level 1. If everyone is doing it, I'll find something on the fun side vs the strong side.

Maybe magic initiate wizard to get 1 extra spell prepared and 2 more cantrips. Or perhaps resilient constitution because every non-sorcerer and non-artifier spellcaster takes that eventually

I will say, IF YOU WANT feel free to take that level 1 feat.

Also, is there any opposed thoughts to have a Monday July 29th start of the game? I know there are some still working on their character sheets but seems doable based on talking with people.
