- CLOSED - Yokai Academy + OVA: The Anime RPG

I am partial to fiery fairies. So if that counts as a monster race, I submit a fairy who is effectively a tiny, size-shifting fire elemental.

My avatar says plenty.I’m indifferent as to whether she needs to wear clothing in human form, or if she can clothe herself magical-girlishly.

I should *probably* know more about how character creation works before offering myself. But then, I may have let this recruitment pass too many times. And so I’ll express my interest, albeit with a specific "monster form" in mind… and did I mention I know nothing about this system?

This is not criticism, but genuine case of mismatched expectations. Back when I was coming up with concepts, and was recruited into two campaigns set in educational institutions (at the time it was Youkai Academy and WYRDS Happening, though the latter was soon replaced by two other academic-themed campaigns for me), I decided to put the more 'modest' of the two personality concepts into Youkai Academy because I expected it to be the more tame one. And thought Lín Jìng telekinetically unbinding Aono's necktie was rather daring and boundary-overstepping. Then I got to know the other students better, both PC and NPC.

The other academic campaigns I'm in ended up the other way around.

Is it good or bad that I don't know any of these??

So, initially this game's pitch was much more dependent on Rosario + Vampire source material, and presuming people would bring up the anime in their heads reading that (as the manga isn't that well known), and that the anime would probably rank high in that list of yours, I really thought I should weight my hand on that SFW part, you know, to fend off anyone too weird.

But yeah, I can see how taken alone, that statement can be misleading.

Depends on interests. Most of those have some things going for them. Except maybe Agent Aika - watched that one together with my now-ex back in the day and we laughed a lot at it, but in hindsight that feels like a silly thing to do. Also the Prince is probably overrated, but it shines at times.
I am only familiar with R+V from reading TVTropes and watching a compilation video. IIRC I warned that I failed the familiarity check.

In this setting, you'd have something like the following options, with the first one having precedents, but the other is also very viable:

a) You could be a fairy that is in a different category of being than monsters, being a less material creature, in this sense, she wouldn't be a student per se, but a creature that lives around the campus and decided to tag along with the group, or one particular girl of the group for some reason. She also wouldn't necessarily have a human form.

b) She's a fairy that's a type of monster, a regular student that has a human form and have, along with her other powers, the ability to shrink (her monster form).

Hello, I heard about this game from Reddit! I do want to state that I have no familiarity with neither this system or Rosario + Vampire, but I’m willing to learn!

My character concept would be probably something Touhou-esque (as that’s where I’m drawing inspiration from for this), and I’m thinking some sort of puppet who’s gained sentience, magical capabilities and a human form.

Alrighty, so I read over the pitch and I do like it, so I figured that I'd throw my hat in the ring. I've got a bit of experience with OVA, though how much would really depend on which edition you'd be using. I've got a few character ideas in mind and I'm pretty flexible in general when it comes to character ideas/execution, so feel free to take these more so as guidelines or elevator pitches rather than anything else. With that in mind, I've got the following

- Dullahan gal with an interest in fashion and making mischief. She's got a heart of gold buried under sixteen layers of irony, and naturally wants to protect all of her friends from... basically everything. Sorta like a reckless big sister type.

- Lamia lady who's a huge nerd with a love for occult/spooky/esoteric stuff. The type who basically never raises their voice and knows just a liiiitttle bit too much about weird topics when they come up. The type who is always planning, but never actually explains those plans because frankly it'd just be tiresome.

- A big ol' relaxed minotaur, easygoing and "just there for the free food". A chronic slacker and something of a delinquent, though mostly because playing it straight and narrow requires a bit too much work from her. She has quite a temper when she gets mad, but then again it's pretty hard to get her mad.

- Tiny ifrit gal who's wayyyy too energetic for her own good. Sharp sense of humor and certified class clown, but she also has a tendency to get carried away with her emotions.

Saw the Reddit advert and am hoping it’s not too late to toss my hat in the ring.

So the idea I had was a little unconventional for a Yokai but here me out. Godzilla’s grand daughter. She’s got a bit of a legacy to live up to. She’s been forced into adopting a tough and mean attitude, being a bit of a bully. But in private she’s a weeb with a huge collection of romance manga.

@BlondeDragonGenie, does Sumeryu have an evil twin or something?
