Excellent, and thank you!

I have a class to teach soon, so I won't get chance till tonight to start work on a character, but I'm thinking a grizzled, filthy miner with odd notions of pre-Shattering history. Not sure on ancestry yet, but Dwarf would be a good choice I think, or maybe Human (since I can't be a Goblin). I'd like one of his traits to be magic - specifically illusions to conceal him, and to create scary illusions that might scare off would-be predators. For the other trait, I'm thinking maybe Trapmaster - again to thwart the denizens of the deep levels of mines, and to deal with traps laid for miners. But more later...

goblins are considered a sub-species of the Duende in my world. The Duende are considered more peaceful as the goblins were used/created as scouts and foragers by the military during the Dawn war before the Shattering.

There is a basic "spell touched" trait that allows minor (cantrip) magic but if you wanted to focus more on illusion only I would allow it to have a bit more range/area to it.

I'm unlikely to be able to get chance to post properly until monday now, but that sounds good. I think I'll go with Duende then - perhaps one with considerable goblin heritage in his background, if that's ok? He's still a bit more peaceful than the usual warborn goblin, what with the lack of offensive magic, and more stealth-y type traits, so Duende would be a good fit. Scouting would be a good fit for him too.

No worries about lineage. Just know the goblin have a bit of a stigma. Not a huge impact most of the time but it may come up. As with most races it is a bonus with their own kind and may be a negative with others. You can pick any traits you like.
[ +- ] Spell Touched
[ +- ] Illusionist
This is a rough draft on potential illusion trait but it gives a rough idea on possibilities. It will likely change but I will try and get it locked down by the end of next week.

Right, should be able to get a few hours in now to do this.

I'm fine with a bit of stigma - perhaps he has a wider, sharper-toothed grin that most Duende that's a bit off-putting, and his manner is a little off at times, that sot of thing.

Would I have to take both Spell-Touched and Illusionist? Or just Illusionist - that's what I'm after. Not bothered about offensive spells really. I was thinking Trapmaster for the other trait, if I only need Illusionist.

Also, for the special item thing - I was there was a lantern that runs on oil but never uses up the oil in the list - would it be possible to have this as a head-mounted lamp on a miner's helmet? Not expecting any extra armour for the helmet or anything, more just a visual look.

I was just showing you the official spell touched as an example. Do do ahead and take illusionist and trap master.

Headlamp is fine.

Nice, I'll do the charsheet thing this afternoon then, I think that's everything I was wondering about.
Aug 12, 2024 4:55 pm
OK, I have the character ready, I think - where do I find the "submit a character" bit?
Aug 12, 2024 4:57 pm
Ah, never mind, found it.

Quick question - is there a chat thread purely for mine and Moyreau's game, or should we do any OOC stuff to do with our game in the game thread as I did in my first post there?
Aug 15, 2024 3:21 pm
Ooc between players of a specific story is kept in the story thread or you can pm if you want. Between players and DM is in story, if story related, or personal threads for other stuff

Nice, thanks!
Aug 15, 2024 3:27 pm
How much would a set of tools cost for dealing with traps?
Aug 15, 2024 3:32 pm
The Tiny Info sheet has a basic shipping list
See Price guide / Stores

Most fine told are expensive but you can get some basic ones and just add them for free as this is a starting trait. Nothing fancy though. If you want something specific and don't see it on the list just ask
Aug 15, 2024 3:35 pm
I had a look on there, but didn't see anything that looked like the usual thieves' tools etc.
Aug 15, 2024 7:22 pm
Thieves' Tools
Thieves' tools include a small file, a set of lock picks, a small mirror mounted on a metal handle, a set of narrow-bladed scissors, and a pair of pliers. A mini crowbar, small mallet and iron/steel wedge, grease tube, tweezers (or something similar), and a small vial of corrosive acid (not strong enough to eat bars, but strong enough to eat through small wires, etc.), a hearing cone, and a version of a magnifying glass.

Your tools weigh 2 lb and costs 20 gp.

That's a generic list complex from multiple sources. Some things are easily created once you have the a told and materials, ex file, pliers and small iron rods. But some need to be bought, mirror, lens, mallet...

I don't work about the previous to much in this game so go ahead and get some basic tools then buy any specifics, acid mirror, etc

Gutelos is now a Veteran and has a Trade, weapons proficiency, weapon mastery, Heritage Trait, 3 traits. Let me know your new trait preference. I assume you will take "Pick" as your mastered weapon?
Nov 9, 2024 2:54 am
Yes, I went for Perceptive for my veteran trait, and pick for mastery.
