Deep in the heart of the Kung Fu Mountains, a team of martial arts experts continues to train to hone their art at the Wushu Temple. Having worked together for years, these fighters and spiritualists are as close as family, and are lead by their wise and aged teacher, Master Wushu. The time has come for Master Wushu to travel with her pupils to a secret hidden training ground to reveal to the party the secret to her ultimate martial arts technique, capable of unleashing untold power. However, just before the party can set out, tragedy strikes- Master Wushu is poisoned... by one of her disciples! Join this campaign to point fingers, rouse suspicions, travel across the land, learn an ancient technique to achieve ultimate power, and maybe even... poison your Master?
I'm looking to set up a 3-6 player Avatar legends campaign for anyone who is interested in narrative gaming, regardless of previous experience. Expected post rate is ~3 times per week. Like other PbtA games, Avatar legends is a fiction-first gaming system that emphasizes characters' struggle to find internal balance while working together to solve a community issue or threat. This would be a good game for those interested in improv gaming and not interested in tactical combat or crunchy rules interactions. I will use the written rules as a guide, rather than a hard and fast ruleset, and I will not be using the combat rules. Instead, combat will use the same basic action resolution used throughout the rest of the narrative to give combat a fast and unified feel.
Since this is an improv-heavy game, we will use the first session to start the narrative and engage with the plot hooks, filling out character sheets with relevant information as it comes up naturally during play. For those who have not played Avatar Legends or a similar Magpie PbtA game before, the character sheets are really simple and have minimal things to choose and fill out, so the character creation process is not intimidating or difficult. Again, we will be ignoring references to Techniques on the character sheet, as these pertain to the optional combat rules that we are not using.
If you are ineterested in playing, comment down below with your character's personality and martial arts style, and I will send you an invite!
