The Creeping Darkness
🐲 The Pitch: A dragon has settled down to the north and its vile darkness has begun spreading through an enchanted forest, directly towards a nearby town! To stop the spread of shadows, the dragon must be slain; this is where you come in. You will need to find an artifact related to the sun in order to accomplish your task, but it has gone missing! Can you find it in time to kill the dragon and save the town?!
👹 Safety and Warnings: This game will include violence and might include player character death. Violence against animals will be present in a classic gaming sense (bears, wolves, things that are trying to eat you), and will also include spiders and might include heights. Overall, very little will happen that couldn't happen in a PG-13 film. Good clean mirth and mayhem.
🐲 Character Creation: This game will allow for the custom creation of characters, and includes four additional kins from the Bestiary. Otherwise, we will follow the rules as laid out, with two exceptions: you will be allowed to select your Heroic Ability, and choosing to roll a fully random character will give you a second Heroic Ability!
👹 Game Duration and Post Frequency: Players will be expected to post daily throughout the week, with weekends being optional. I frequently backpack over the weekends, but I make up for it by working from home with an open schedule that allows for posting at nearly any time. Choices you make can change the length of the game, but I would expect it to last several months up to a year, with the latter being an extreme length.
🐲 Player Experience Requirements: This game is open to any who want to apply! Dragonbane has a simple rules system that can be picked up rather quickly, though it should be mentioned that it can be a deadly game for those who don't appreciate the fragility of their characters. Having access to the rules would be preferable, though I don't mind helping those without access.
👹 How to Apply: To apply, just respond below in a Haiku. I will leave the ad up for several days, and select players based on entirely arbitrary methods. Don't be afraid to apply if you're new, or if you have a full deck of games; there will not likely be preferential treatment either way. As I am a Storyteller who absolutely plays fast and loose with the rules, you might not enjoy this game if you enjoy relying on the rules as written.
