Honestly, my assumption was that Dalton would reject Jacky's offer. As you've seen, the halfling isn't particularly beholden to the truth! While Jacky stalls for time, perhaps the others have some notion that would dissuade the Darlings?

Thing is we’re pretty screwed either way. We won’t walk out in case of a confrontation. And Ella is really not eager to hand over the meagre loot we’ve found so far. But even assuming they allow us to tag along and/or do menial jobs for them, we’re probably going to get screwed too… do the other players have any other ideas?

I figured even if this Dalton accepts Jacky's offer, we weren't really going to uphold anything on our end. Making nice here would only delay the inevitable conflict in my mind, which might be a bad idea if we wanted to be better prepared.

Also, apologies for the absence yet again! On a business trip and been so busy I forgot all about posting!

I'm fine with surrendering loot or playing along with them, but trying to fight Dalton right now strikes me as very much a bad idea. They're an established party and outnumber us, while we've barely gotten started.

I understand discretion to be the better part of valor, but I'm not crazy about just submitting after seeing this a**hole slap Jacky lol. What is our plan if Grim's spell works? Rush them and hope they fail their moral roll when I cut Dalton's head off? :)

Grim is absolutely attacking. No one gets a pass on slapping one of ours.

You were very unlucky in that regard. It was only the result of a low-probability random encounter that they happened to arrive at this time. It wasn't me being an evil GM!

Still, if you want to put a more positive slant on it, better that they find you now when you've hardly got any treasure than they intercept you later when your carrying treasure worth thousands!

Before we go farther into certain death, I’m wondering if it’s feasible that we leave Thrud’s unused chain mail at a quasi-secure location near the entrance, to retrieve later, so we’re not lugging it all the way thru the dungeon.

That's what I intended to do with it, I figured we would likely be passing back through one of these rooms on our way out at some point. Of course, it could get sucked up by the gelatinous cube in the meantime!

I'll be away on vacation April 5th through April 13. I should still be able to get in and post a few times, but I also might forget since we'll be keeping busy. @Burbage feel free to auto-pilot Thrud for any combats that may occur. When in doubt, aim axe for neck, worked last time :).

This coming week I will be unavailable between Friday (4/11) afternoon and Monday night (4/14), and the following Saturday/Sunday (4/19–4/20) but should be around in between.
