Volume II: Prison Break - saving the hostages

Blacklight nodded. "Blue Reaper, go help the others I'll catch up once everyone is out of the prison."

That said she once again pulled on the power of the dark to create a portal straight from here to the mainland, grateful that it was night and so such a task was both easier and locating a spot for the other end was quick. "Alright everyone, through the portal quickly and calmly, there's no need to rush but as the warden said you can't stay here." As things moved through she tried not to let her worries and impatience for the process to be over show. This was important, she knew it was important but still she was stuck here, ferrying civilians while the rest of the team was fighting and it felt wrong to stay safely out of things.

The last of the civilians didn't have the chance to pass through the portal when the sirens sounded off throughout the prison. Even under the flashing red light, the Deputy's face looked deathly pale:

"We're done for. It's OVER! We need to get out of here. Everyone!!!" The man looked at the rest of the guards. If they left, there would be no one to guard the convicts. But if they stayed, they could all very well die "Go! Go! Go! Go! Through the portal!!!" he yelled, and without waiting for anyone else to follow, was the first to jump through the swirling blackness

What do you do?

There is really very little Blacklight can do other than hold the portal open and try to help usher the remaining civilians and guards through it as she turns her head to try and spot what's occurring elsewhere in the prison. At least Blue Reaper could go help. Unfortunately while Blacklight had been able to track a lot of what was going on but once The Wrecker had gone into that last cell she couldn't see what was happening. Why did they have to go into the one room still fully lit without a single broken lightbulb!

Reaper looks around making sure that no convicts have escaped notice. "Okay, you got this then Blacklight? I'll go check on the others." They wait for confirmation but zero in on Wrecker telepathically and prepares to jump.
