Charles eyes widen. What could he do with that equipment if he could get his hands on it. They had to secure it, not destroy it. He remains silent as the rest ask their questions, contemplating the potential ability to 'reprogram' the past.

Perry unroll an old map of Southern California and spread it on the big table in the middle of the office. Come get a closer look. We are here *points our position on the map* and you must go there *points again*. Chief Warrant Officer Navona gonna pilot the group in a Huey chopper. There, you will make contact with the advanced team. You will then enter the facility and look for the TDE. Once you find it, Mr. Davis here gonna evaluate the TDE and make the decision. You fly, you walk, you search. Easy? Not really. Even if Skynet's longe-range scanners are down for maintenance, there will still be some protection around the facility. According to the preliminary reports, we are talking about 2X HK-Tanks patrolling the greater perimeter in a circular pattern. Inside the perimeter there is between 6 and 8 T-800 that are also moving around the building. For whats inside it, we can't tell, cause nobody went in yet. We would'nt compromise the safety of the recon team. You leave at dawn, so go get some rest and we will talk later before you leave. Understood?

T8 looked at the map.

"Briefing acknowledged. Given the priority of the objective and the expected opposing force, for best odds of success it is recommended that you allow the team to requisition a phased plasma cannon that you can afford to lose if this mission is a success. Barring that, another heavy anti-armour weapon is highly recommended, plus whatever other members of the force can bring to bear against heavy chassises, such as canister charges.

Strip the Huey of everything that's not of immediate use. Even with the main sensor arrays down, it is not going to be unnoticed, and once spotted, it will not be allowed to take off ever again, even if we engage and defeat the main guard force: expect a beyond-visual-range artillery and other weaponry to shell the landing area in minutes and turn the craft no longer airworthy. Regardless of mission outcome, the odds of exfiltration are difficult to calculate, but would be very pessimistic. If you have any pharmaceuticals suitable for enhancing performance relevant to the mission, it is optimal to hand them out to the people involved, as the benefits would outweigh the aftermath.

And while people are resting, I can engage in further preparations. That is, assuming Mr. Davis is willing to proceed,"
T8 looked at the programmer, evaluating his reaction.

Maze is surprised Major General Justin Perry himself leads the briefing. She so much expected someone of lesser rank. Although it seems the General is well informed.

Tactical her is immediately studying the map for their approach. She views it for the means to get there without their presence being noticed well as where they may park that huey as would be so much nicer than their way back on foot. But she too looks over that option as well. Maze always returns.

The more she thinks about it, she asks, "With only 5 of us and not a full platoon, wouldn't a "Little Bird" with less a profile, faster, & quieter be better?"

OOC:
Just playing up the rival angle…
Alex has to bite his tongue when Maze finishes talking. ’Who does this hotshot think she is questioning the commander like that?’ he thinks to himself. He just rolls his eyes and glances over his shoulder at the T-800 in the back of the room. "Don’t worry, tin man," he says with a wink. "I got the good stuff in my little magic bag to keep our boys humming."

Charles has no head for tactics or how to approach. He keeps silent, not adding one more voice to the chorus. He'll just let the rest lay out the plan, and then follow it as best he could. That's how he's survived so far.

SGT Hanson will look over the map, searching for elevated spots, covered approach routes, anything he can use to employ his skillset to maximum efficiency.

"I'm sorry, but we don't have any of these weapons or chopper. The last offensive by Connor took a lot from our ressources. The idea is of a stealth mission with a small team going through the defensive net of this building. Also, speaking of exfiltration, we already took care of this part. Don't worry about it. Anything else ?"

"The concept of the plan seems simple enough, Sir. Although, first contact and all that... When do we leave Sir?"

"At dawn, so im about 8 hours."

"We should probably eat a meal and rest up. Tomorrow's gonna be a long day," Hanson says, turning to the others. "Anything else for us Sir?"

"If stealth fails, there seems to be not enough of a contingency; no plan B to speak of. Given the stated importance of this objective, and how unacceptable failure is, this is careless, and unnecessarily diminishes the odds of success," he glances at the programmer again.
Oct 16, 2024 6:18 pm
Hanson cocks his head at the unit. "Then it gets a whole lot louder," he replies. "The mission doesn't change if stealth fails. Sounds like falling back isn't an option due to time constraints (no pun intended), and it seems unlikely we have the manpower for a meaningful distraction. We succeed, or die trying."

"We stay very low we may avoid problems. Worry about that tomorrow as we must. Tonight is fine for a good meal.'

"Nothing like a good suicide mission to work up an appetite," Alex quips. "I could definitely go for some chow and a rack."

"Speakin' my language, brother. Let's hit the mess hall."

"Perfect! So see you all in 8 hours. Dismissed!"

Pilot Maze leads the way to get some grub. Oh, how she misses outside dinning. Current military like sucks.

After a not so good meal and a not so good sleep, you all wake up as you get ready for the incoming mission. You grab all the necessary gear as a old runned down military transport truck moves you to a old airplane hangar situated at the edge of the base. There, Major General Perry awaits for you with all of his senior staff. When you arrive near by them, you see the Huey chopper getting readied by the hangar crew. As you get out of the truck, you can see a nice surprise installed on the left side of the side door of the chopper: a M134 Minigun.

T8 silently approaches the helicopter, detaches the ammo belt from the weapon, ensures it is empty, quickly runs a superficial check of all the components, then returns the weapon to the state it was in, and turns to the rest of the team. "Good. This improves our odds if a firefight breaks out."
