Are you a DM interested in running an adventure for gamers that wish to learn Fate Core system?
If you have an adventure idea for fantasy, sci-fi, supers, detective or other genre, that you wish to try under Fate Core, this may be your chance!

Rules/Pitch
There are some Fate Core games already in GP, but some of us have not tried it yet but will love to!
So this is basically an invitation to
1. DMs willing to set up a not-serious, adventure while creating a setting on the go to keep it simple and fun.
2. A few new-to-FateCore players, for a party of 4 or 5 (pending GM approval ;) ).

Adult or Controversial
Since this is a small and simple trial, and there are plenty of fun stories to create without depending on controversy, I'd prefer to keep friendly to all, so controversial topics out. Specially leaving out politics.
Having said that, I'm not easily offended, and I usually am all in for freedom (not to be confused with debauchery)... so light references to those topics would be ok, but making those a main topic for the adventure would not.

Game duration and post frequency
Let's go with 1/day, unless RL happens. And it does happen once in a while. And no expectations on weekends.
About the duration, it should probably be up to the DM! Although, this being a Fate Core trial, I'd expect the initial adventures being shortish, and if all goes well, the length may change.

Specialized Software or resources
Having access to Fate Core rulebook.

Players Experience Requirements
None! That's the point for an introductory adventure. Although the DM should have enough to guide/teach the rest.

Marginalized Groups
Respecting freedom, so not favouring nor banning any group. This game identity has enough complexity by being a starters' game on a new system, so it doesn't need more.

Never played Fate and always wanted to give it a shot. I am also interested in learning GMing, never did that either. That being said, I might want to try Fate first as a player before jumping in as a GM at some point, provided Fate meshes with me in the first place.

What a great idea! Following.

(Possibly interested in DMing if no one else wants first crack.)

I'm interested in playing here.

I'm also interested in GMing, except I'm currently already planning a 1-to-1 game I'll GM, and I want to have that first experience before I try it with more people. I might GM for others here once I acquire confidence.

Never played Fate and would like to give it a try.

Not running it right now, as I'm busy with several games, but I have a one-shot Fate adventure specifically made for this purpose. It's contemporary, for completely normal, mundane characters.

I'm interested. Fate is a game on my shelf that I've never played but want to.

Wow! That was fast!
Thanks for the interest!

So far, the initial DM to take up the challenge of teaching us, if you choice to accept it, would be Qralloq. With a possible/future follow-up by Rpg.veteran.
And the PCs' actors, in order if appearance, would be Cathamber, Aline, Gentleman, Mathias0077 and Phil_Ozzy_Fer.

Qralloq, if it is OK with you, I'd appreciate you creating the actual game thread (and inviting the rest), so we can start talking (and voting?) on how to build this idea into something fun and manageable.

I left the Genre (fantasy, sci-fi, supers, detective or other) open for conversation, so we should talk about that first. So we can then create PCs and the setting. I'd prefer to talk and vote it within the game thread, to keep this invitation clean. Of course, once that is voted and decided, I'll be back to share the conclusion.

I'm not closing this invitation yet, because, if us 5 can't fully agree on genre (or some enters another game before this one starts) an opening may appear. So it's basically waiting list after this post ;) Again, pending on DMs approval.

I'll set the game up and send invites.

Here it is, and invites sent.

Hey Qralloq. What kind of adventure is this planned? Not that I have any concept how to play with Fate Core system or have any resources.

We've not discussed any of that. Hopefully we'll all agree to something fun and zany, and I can come up with a story idea that will walk us all through the nuances of Fate. No resources needed, Cathamber posted a link to the SRD online above.

Hm. Could you drop me in line there. I like to see some of this. Who knows what "Fate" lies ahead.

Quick update:

The pitch:
Our team of paranormal investigators is hired to investigate Lakeshore Haven, a summer lake resort that was abandoned after a brutal mass murder twenty years ago. The site has since become the subject of urban legends and unexplained phenomena, drawing in curious investigators. Strange sightings, eerie sounds, and disappearing locals near the lake have reignited interest in the location, and your team has been called in to uncover the truth behind the haunting.

Furthermore:
The team is made of high school friends that had a music band which they are now reuniting. And move around in a big van (similar to the one the A-Team had).

Hello!

I’ve tried to play Fate once but the campaign fizzled, I would love to try again if there are spots open for a player?
