You can see the only way to reach the raven is to climb out the window and jump to the peaked roof. Because its on a roof there is no direct way to the roof from inside the castle if that makes sense.

At Varos’ suggestion, Anton was quick to respond.

"I would rather you lower me, with the rope tied around my waist, so if I lose my grip, or things run bad you can pull me up…"

Not a refusal then, but not blind acceptance either.

Clarence leans over the nest and looks for the window the Raven mentioned. Seeing vague figures in the distance he yells out Is that you, little buddy? The Raven is graciously willing to help us leave the castle! All we need is a valuable shiny item per person as payment—but all of us or none of us. I think we have enough for half our group already. Have you found anything else?

nezzeraj, I'm counting the candelabra as one, the gold and ruby rose as two, and the hilt of the sword as three. And we are six.
Also, as mentioned earlier, I'm logging off until Saturday night now. Please play Clarence if it is needed. He wants to get out the most painless way possible—which is the Raven as of now—and doesn't want to risk midnight looking for the curse's cure. Of course, he's only one out of six. Although the one with the best physique by far 😉

As Anton is about to crawl out the window, tied into a harness, he hears Clarence's voice booming between thunderclaps, through the rain and darkness. He is alive? And conscious? He doesn't sound much wounded at all from the power of his voice!
