There are some that say the children are the greatest treasure of all…

OOC:
There may be some, but it's a pretty useless treasure to a raven lol. Also he's a teenager now and no one thinks they are any treasure at all! haha

Clarence takes a moment to gather his thoughts.

Well, our trio has a sword, a golden rose, and a golden candelabra, but the Raven provides an all-or-nothing offer. Much like "the body", but with "the body", you always get all! Clarence starts reminiscing about a particularly competitive event he participated in, but quickly gathers his train of thought. With your goblet, we have four out of the five needed treasures we need to escape.

Continuing, Clarence proceeds Taking stock of what he apparition in the basement foretold, we have found the enchanter's method, but are loathe to part with pieces of ourselves. At least I am. Just look at this perfection! Here Clarence flexes in classic oblique pose, his muscular arms and thighs standing out in vivid relief. The women of the world would mourn for years if anything were to happen to THIS physique.

The beast is obvious, but unless one of you wishes to join the ranks of the damned, I doubt anyone wants to use that.

We have neither found the ghost nor what he lost. Although the corpse in the tower did say to find "him". Whether that is the ghost, yon aging babe, or the master of the castle remains unknown.

Nor have we found the priest or even know what he may do.

As for breaking the curse, we have found the sword,
here Clarence makes a few flourishes with the sword, which mysteriously has grown to greatsword size in his hands, as if it knew the sword with which Clarence was most competent. As for the mother, my suspicion is that it is the woman we found above, but she requires us to find "him" whoever "he" may be. Nor have we found tome or throne.

Therefore, my suggestion is if we can quickly find one more treasure, we may all escape with the Raven. If not, one of us can leave via the enchanter and the rest of us can use the Raven. Or, should I say, one of you.
Here Clarence smiles and flexes his barrel-like chest yet again.

"So there was a wedding going on somewhere? Maybe we could grab another treasure there. We must move quickly though."
Nov 27, 2024 5:14 am
"We did find the tome on the count's throne where we found this goblet. However, I don't know what the symbol of hope might be. What did this Mother say about the he she wants? This rapidly growing child was but a babe when we first happened upon him. Could he be the one?" Tibor grimaces in frustration.

"The wedding we passed is right back where we came from. But something was off and the reception is not what it seems. Are you up for a possible fight if we return?" He gestures to the greatsword slung across his back to indicate he will do his part if it becomes necessary.

Clarence perks up at the mention of the tome. Where was this tome and throne, did you read it, what did it say?

As for the wedding, I still have one or two uses of the magic candle. One the one hand, it created those dead warriors in the feast room. On the other, it exposed the blade at the center of the count's beating heart.

I'm not sure if we have time for both, though. If we haev to fight either way, perhaps we should do so in an attempt to break the curse. But if we can slip in and out, we should go for the Raven. At least that is my opinion.

Just wanted to clarify a bit since its hard to remember or keep track of some things with pbp posting rates lol. The three relics are helpful for defeating the Count and breaking the curse, but are not necessary, just increases the odds of everyone surviving. You have not found the Mother referred to in the riddle and you probably won't with the time left. The aging boy is not related to anything you've encountered yet, he's more like a ticking clock ;) You have not found the ghost mentioned, but the dead woman in the tower is related to "him" that she mentioned, not the Count. Since we are over a month past the expected time I think the fastest way to wrap up is to find the last treasure in the wedding reception room. If you don't mind playing longer, you could also wait until midnight and fight the count with 2 of 3 relics and use the remaining time to explore more of the castle. Wanted to say thanks to everyone for sticking around this far, I hope you're all enjoying the game as much as I am!

I am having a blast :) Let's gauge the party's opinion

What should we do Public

Re-enter the wedding and find a trinket for the Raven?
Stick around, hunt for mama or ghost or priest, and almost certainly face the dread lord?

Back to the wedding! Gregory did read the tome, and took the counts cloak! It makes the room dark when opened. So that’s bad if we don’t have dark vision!

OOC:
D'oh! I forgot about the cloak! (I blame KCC for never adding anything to his inventory ever). That is certainly a treasure! If he wants to give it up you all can escape now.
Nov 27, 2024 1:06 pm
"If we can persuade the Raven to take us all, we ought to do it," the priest stated with finality.
OOC:
As a player I'm curious to explore further, but Anton is sh**ting his pants right now, as reflected in the stress level. He's more than ready to get out of this place as quickly as possible, even though he personally believes his curse will follow him elsewhere (then again, he already thought he was cursed before arriving in this castle). The only reason he would stay is if he is persuaded that leaving will spread the curse beyond the accursed castle.

You knew what you were getting when you added me to the game!

I guess I can part with my sick, fur robe! Lost luxuries!

The Raven offers escape in exchange for "gold and silver". The goblet, candelabra, and rose certainly qualify. The shiny sword probably as well. But the cloak?

Is life even worth living without your swag cloak?!?

I am loving this game and will always wonder about the other parts of the castle and the story (including what happened to Frac [RIP]) but Tibor feels lucky to have a way out finally!

Do we want to do the short rest and stories before the wedding? It would be helpful to have a lower SL for the end.

OOC:
The rules just specify it has to be a capital T Treasure, so the cloak counts. Ravens do prefer shiny objects though lol. I'll just throw up a quick poll on which direction everyone wants to take and go from there.

We should go back and "unnote" all the posts when we are done so that we can follow each others’ threads. Nezzeraj, is there a way you can do it easily as GM?
Nov 28, 2024 8:04 am
OOC:
Easily yes, but time consuming lol. It would probably be faster to just post a summary of what happened while separated. I will also answer any questions about the adventure and all the stuff you missed lol.

Raven! Raven! Raven!
OOC:
Gregory and Tibor woke up in front of a gate, which then formed a mouth and began to try and bargain with us. It would open at midnight, if we could find a red haired woman in the castle and bring her to the gate. He didn’t say whether she would be happy with that arrangement or not.

We went inside, and heard chanting! Tibor was viciously assaulted by a suit of armor, and was near zero! We decided to retreat away from the sound of chanting for fear that a battle would kill Tibor.

We found ourself in the throne room, where we found the counts book. Gregory read it which caused the room to be engulfed in Darkness. Chanting started to travel towards us, and so Gregory held the door against whatever was outside. Tibor lead the way down the next corridor, and that’s where we got a view of the outside of the castle.

We found the cape there, upon a throne that overlooked the storm outside. But it was basically a dead end. We didn’t want to go down, so we retraced our steps before the door Gregory had magically held could be broken down.

We stumbled onto a nursery where we found the baby, and a nun that had no eyes! Or black holes for eyes!

We grabbed the child and ran up the steps, to where we are now! There or there abouts anyway! I’m sure I’m forgetting a lot!

Pretty accurate except you skipped the whole wedding reception room lol!
