Yes, both work. I just got fixated on the name because my own character's name is always linked.

Exception is when you're a GM. Then you can click on both name and avatar. Unless that's what you mean by being in control, since a GM is technically in control of everything?

Anyway, I propose making both name and avatar clickable in all situations. If it's private, it'll show "Not Found," as noted.

It would also be nice to click names in the Game Details page:
