Drake's message was to everyone, including Cole, Aurin-Ah and Luna.

Aurin glanced around. "Hmm. Quickly, then, I think. We don't want to abuse our privilege, but getting a bit more information on our culprit immediately before and after the deed would help our case." He clicked his beak nervously, eyes cast towards the door of the security office. "We shouldn't dig too deeply, though. Having this unscrambled footage will give the local security some cause to accelerate their own investigation."

As his communicator chirped, his feathers fluffed up, his hand moving to cover it as if they might be heard. "Ah," he responded, "We have solid evidence that the perpetrator is," he scrolled through his PADD listing the attendees, "... one Dai'mon Krel, Are they associates? Have you seen him in her company?"

The Ferengi scientist runs toward a turbolift and when she enters the security feds for that area go dark.

A comm message from your ship immediately chimes. The captains voice comes through clearly. "We've just detected a localized, uncontrolled EMP pulse in the sublevels of the facility. Report."

I think it was our main suspect she says over her comm

"We are in pursuit, heading toward the turbolift," Drake says over the comm.

Aurin leaned over, seeing one of the monitors go dark. He hadn't been observing the active security, but the sudden blackout caught his eye, tuned for spotting prey movement at multiple kilometers. The talons clutching the seat near Luna's head almost punched through the cushioned material - the tension was starting to get to him.

He tapped his comm badge as the channel started to get a little busier. "We just had a few monitors black out in here. Someone's tampering with station security."

He looked down at Luna, his expression serious. They should inform station security immediately of the anomaly, but that would mean being caught red-handed at the security console they were definitely not cleared to be using. The normally quite decisive science officer seemed to hesitate, not wanting to abandon the strategic advantage of the security feeds, but not sure how they could extricate themselves if station security heated up and they were still crouched over confidential files.

Have we just been cut off? Luna asks surprised by the sudden black screen. "Could the pulse be someone preventing us from seeing the footage? We better regroup with the rest of the crew.
The egghead-aliens of this station have probably noticed this by themself. Lets go." she says agitated completely forgetting that the term egghead-alien is definitely not in line with Star Fleet Protocol.

Cole and Jacye find Chief Orda halfway into a maintenance tube, trying to troubleshoot a shorted connection. He has schematics on a PADD-like device and is scratching a plasma conduit with a probe.

"This whole section just went down. Some kind of surge. How's the investigation?"

Acknowledging their Captain's communication, Cole reported he was on his way to meet up with the chief of security and would provide a summary once he knew more.

Finding the security chief in a maintenance tube, Cole cautiously approached, not wanting to disturb the alien's work, only to nod as Orda explained the purpose of his repair. "Our ship reported an EMP burst.

At roughly the same time some of my team were in pursuit of a young Ferengi woman. My team was also able to deduce the culprit behind the ambassador's murder was a Ferengi as well.

You mentioned you had your own suspects. Does that track with your supsicions?"

MRess and Drake chase the Ferengi scientist Doctor Prirra who disappears into a turbolift, which closes and behind to descend levels. They look around for an override when suddenly all of the lights go out. The power indicators in the turbolift also go black. There is no emergency power, it's quite pitch black.

Your comms work, the Federation tech in the device shielded from the low level EMP. But you're in the dark.

What do you do? Attempt to enter the turbo lift and climb down after her, wait for power to be restored, or something else?

Damn it Drake I'm a doctor not a spelunker...what do you think? We didn't bring light sources

Are Aurin-Ah and Luna going to run to the area, or try something else?

Aurin follows Luna's lead to move onto the scene. He is careful to leave the unscrambled footage on the monitor in the security office, but does not want them to be caught there.

A nervous titter escapes Drake's mouth, but other than that, he has nothing. In what feels like an hour but only a minute, Drake finds his tongue.

"Let's wait a bit. See if the power is restored before we try heroics and shaft climbing. If it's dark for us, it's dark for the murderer. Uh ... do they happen to have darksight, do you know?"

The Ferengi aren't known for having any kind of dark vision, but they do have decent eyesight in less than ideal circumstances. I'm sure Doctor M'Ress could see quite well given even the little bit of light emitted from a PADD or tricorder.

"I would be alright, our suspect, not so much. she either has some kind of equipment to help her, or someone else ia involved". M'Ress moves closer to the lift. "I haven't climbed since the war..".

"Wait! I have an idea? Why don't we contact our ship? Their sensors still work. We could have them transport us past the lift, and even better, have the rest of the crew join us."
