Solo Games- Make Me an Offer

I'm interested in running a solo game for anyone who wants to play one. I have experience with narrative systems like PbtA (especially Avatar Legends), as well as Roll for Shoes and Lasers and Feelings. I don't prefer to run games in a traditional fantasy setting, but I'm pretty flexible on plot.

Here are some ideas that I had:

1. You get a strange invite from a friend you haven't seen in a long time. You show up at the address to find it's a mysterious masquerade ball thrown in honor of their birthday, and they secretly became a billionaire since you last talked to them. Eventually someone dies and you get a classic murder mystery. (Mystery genre)

2. You are a rich billionaire who works as the CEO for a company. You meet the girl of your dreams at a job interview and you spend the game romancing her, fighting off hostile takeovers, destroying the press, and growing you company. (Romance genre)

3. You start a small company off a simple but revolutionary idea and get to grow it to be a disruptive giant. You will attract the interest of investors and the ire of massive corporations! This can be set in the past, present, or future. (Simulator genre)

4. You are a teenager sneaking looks at porn in the restricted section of the library when you find a supernatural journal. You take it to a sleepover and perform a necromancy ritual with your friends. Zombies ensue. (Horror genre)

5. You are sent to a distant planet to protect the mining operation as a security guard. The unknown beasts of the planet begin to overrun the camp and horror ensues. (Horror genre)

6. We can do a slice of life about girls with big boobs. This will obviously have less plot but more boobs. (Slice of life genre)

7. You work for an elite hacker corps in the CIA and you develop a new cyber weapon |or| find out Russia just hacked the US |or| get framed for a cyber crime and have to go rogue to prove your innocence (any of these options work). (Action genre)

8. You work for the FBI and get transferred to the special unit. You and your rookie partner get sent to the South to investigate a strange report out in the swamps... (Action genre)

9. You are the president and aliens make first contact. They have advanced tech and weaponry but the world is scared of them. (Thriller genre)

Feel free to run with any of these ideas or pitch your own. I will try to take on ~1 - 3 games, so let me know here or as a PM if you are interested. I am also happy to play in a solo game as a player if you are a GM looking to run a solo game. Feel free to pitch an idea/system! I'm interested in learning anything, really.

Hey @gamemaster, one of the things I always regretted was not being able to keep up with your fun Avatar game. I wonder if you'd consider a game based on the further adventures of Arjun?

Sure, I'm good for that. What kind of plot did you have in mind?

What era were we in, in the Mad Scientist game? I've got a few ideas, but some fit eras better than others. Of course we could alway just retcon the era. I've always been super-fond of Republic City as a setting, so a Korra Era setting might be fun.

We were in the Aang era just before the events of the first show, but we can easily move to any other era. I also love Republic City, I think it's actually my favorite! What ideas did you have?

Here’s a concept I’ve been working on: An older Arjun (retconned into the Korra era) has escaped her temple and been wandering for a while, bootless and aimless, until she’s inevitably drawn to Republic City.

In this version, perhaps her former temple isn’t exactly the most benevolent place. They see Arjun as their prodigy and aren’t willing to let her go easily, even if it means hunting her down to forcefully bring her back. Maybe if we feel we need them as a present or future threat.

Here are a few story ideas we could explore:

1. Pro-Bending Circuit:
Arjun arrives in Republic City with the goal of making a name for herself in the Pro-Bending circuit. Starting from the bottom, she’ll have to navigate not just the competitions, but the politics, shady dealings, and underground drama that surround the sport.

I don't think the actual Pro-Bending matches should be the the focus of the game, but the politics, shady dealings, and intrigue behind the scenes could be a lot of fun to explore, and would probably make for the meat of the story.

2. Underworld Troubles:
Arjun could come to Republic City with dreams of becoming a Pro-Bender or even a Movers star. However, she quickly finds herself swindled by the city’s underworld and winds up in serious debt to some dangerous individuals. Now, she’s forced to work for them until she can pay off what she owes.

There could be a MacGuffin or a big heist tied to her getting out of this mess, adding some exciting stakes to the story and a good endpoint or goal to finish on.

3. Rescue Mission:
Arjun might arrive with a different purpose altogether—a friend (perhaps a reimagined version of Shiruku) has reached out for help, saying they’re in trouble in Republic City. Arjun sets off on a mission to find and rescue them, fighting her way through the city’s underbelly, taking on its seedy characters as she searches for her friend.

Lastly, I wonder if you'd be interested in playing in a Republic City setting? We could try a dual GM/Player format, where we each run stories for one another in parallel, and perhaps our characters could cross paths and interact. It might be fun to do a play and GM swap for this game.

Pro bending is super fun and I really like that idea! Honestly, they are all good and I would take any of them. Let me know which one you want and I'll see what I can work up.

Ok, Arjun has her heart set on becoming a Pro-bending champ.

So what I'm suggesting is: one game, co-gm (apparently you can do this in GP), different scenes but in the same setting and time, each character following their own story but with the possibility that they're going to run into each other.

If you think this is worth trying definitely come up with some ideas. I have some old campaign ideas from a previous live Avatar game that I ran in the RC, Korra setting, but I'm also keen to start off with only a rough idea and 'play to find out' as they say.

If you're keen on that idea, maybe I should set up a game, invite you and see if I can set up co-gming rights.

I actually didn't know you can have co-GM but I like that idea! I also didn't know you were a GM, and I've never actually been a player for Avatar (only a GM), so I would love to! I'm excited to see how someone else runs it!

Since we are in Republic City with a focus on pro bending and the underground scene, how about I am an underground crime boss looking to expand my business from illegal loans and money laundering to include pro bending gambling/sports betting. Since this represents the gang coming out of the darkness to a more high-profile endeavor, I could easily draw the attention of the government/police.

That sounds good. There's definitely some playbooks that directly support that type of character.

As an aside, I asked ai to come up with an older version of Arjun and was pretty happy with the results. The left-most image is the young Arjun from the mad scientist.
