OOC:
Ok cool yeah the first time i read it I was thinking the two non instantaneous affects for an hour wouldnt work but then when Tryne asked it got me reading it again and wasnt sure if you would rule that spell as the instantaneous effect which looks like doesnt apply to the one hour rule for two effects or if you would rule that as the non-instantaneous effects. So i just wasnt sure how you would want to rule that. But sounds good thank you for allowing that ruling.
Meepo stroke his chin for a moment. Yeah I think i can sift the dirt but you are going to need to slow it down for me to have enough time to erase all these tract.

Meepo looks over to Vice. Hey do you wanna leave some false tracks for someone else to follow? Meepo takes the broom that is strapped to his pack and says bibbity bobity boop and the broom starts to hover in place. You were talking about how you can do mage hand right? Maybe a mage hand and digging sword in the ground could make some false tracks to somewhere else? Just a thought.

Vice activates his Mage Hand then stops after thinking a bit. "Wait, if I'm going to make false tracks that lead somewhere else, won't I have to go somewhere else? Where would I go? How would I get there? Wouldn't you guys miss me?"

Meepo looks to Vice. it is just an option but you would go as far as you desire and get the by my flying broom. Just a thought

Meepo was thinking of doing that if anyone someone else messed up tracks

Meepo goes to look out the rear of the carriage ready to start casting mold earth as soon as the carriage slows down

Tryne considered and slowed the cart. "Eventually we have to leave this road right? If we can just mask our tracks now and not have tracks when we change directions, perhaps what will be enough. Or if we just make it look like we left this road for a short ways - way 100 feet onto harder ground, maybe that would confuse anyone following. I don't know, this coach is definitely not subtle."

Laulalith laughs at Vice's comment. "I would most certainly miss you!"

"Let's try what Tryne suggested. I trust our driver on this. When we find a patch of hard ground, we can change direction and take the time we need to erase whatever tracks we still leave behind."

Then she turns to Meepo. "So that broom of yours allows you to fly? That is certainly a useful trick." She winks to him. "I thought you simply appreciated a clean campsite."

"I think it will be difficult to lay out false tracks while flying on that thing, but an airborne scout would do much to mitigate the fact that our ride is less than inconspicuous. An invisible airborne scout would be even more efficient - and I can handle that part."

Meepo scratches his head. with mage hand at a steady few feet away from you I don't think it would be too hard. And was thinking tracks going to a different hard ground where we are not going would have followers try to track in wrong spot might be funny hehe. But whatever group wants to do.

Meepo puts the broom back on his pack and waits in the back for whenever he is needed.

He looks at Laulalith being invisible would be fun

"Let's give the false tracks a try as you suggest Meepo. Then we can try turning you invisible another day."

OOC:
Meepo, give me a check with your spellcasting modifier to hide the tracks.

Tryne, roll me survival to leave the trail.
Dec 16, 2024 12:45 pm
Tryne looked for places where he thought the cart could leave the trail, "Torhak, any suggestions?"
OOC:

I rolled with advantage assuming Torhak is helping Tryne with where to go.

"Umm, over there maybe? Looks wide enough for the cart" Torhak pointed a meaty finger in a direction.

As Tryne slows down, Meepo begins the somewhat grueling task of molding earth continuously behind them. Torhak points to a slightly treacherous looking spot to their right to divert the cart and its wagon. Tryne agrees and expertly negotiates a steep, windy embankment, while Meepo wipes away any trace of wagon tracks. After a short while, they find themselves in a series of stony rolling hills and valleys. Devoid of vegetation, the hills look like they were poured from molten clay and fired in a kiln. Meepo has little issue covering what little tracks are left behind from the carts.

Winding through the hills, Tryne and Torhak keep their bearings using the ever approaching large cliffs to the east. Based on Kalli's map, 37 knows the rail tracks will end just before the cliffs. At this pace, they will reach them in two or three hours. He would know they should return to the rail tracks before that so they find the right path to the warehouse.
OOC:
Nice rolls! You would be certain there is no chance anyone could follow you or pick up your trail.

Let me know if you wish to do anything in the meantime. Otherwise, I'll post the final stretch of the journey later today.

Feeling confident that they have sufficiently covered their trail, Tryne is now in full control of the cart. He has begun to feel a deep connection with elemental within. The machine moves quickly and smoothly toward the cliffs ahead. Here and there, large bore holes begin to be seen in the ground, but no creatures are immediately obvious.

Keeping their distance from the turnpike, the elf and the minotaur can see the rail tracks end to their left. Ahead are the cliffs that mark the first real obstacle of the Mournland. With 37’s direction, they find the road Kalli described and turn south. The incessant whispers begin to fade slightly, sounding more distant, seemingly coming from the west. Blackened shrubs dot the road, appearing like dead brambles, yet on closer inspection, are very much alive. Their branches sometimes reaching toward the cart as it passes.

At the quicker pace, they arrive at an opening, approximately where Kalli’s map said it would be.

OOC:
Tryne, you are now attuned to the cart.

Let me know how you proceed.

Meepo gets out first on his broom and flys a circle around the cart first seeing if it is safe for the rest to step down (looking for any dangers on the ground like traps or creatures lying in wait) then flying up high and checking to make sure nothing has the high grounds on us

Rolls

Perception - (2d20l1+2)

(193) + 2 = 5

Dec 17, 2024 9:56 am
Laulalith gets out of the cart and stretches to remove the stiffness from her muscles after being cooped up for so long. "Nice driving, Tryne. It got a lot smoother at the end."

She watches Meepo circle above them. While she waits for him to return, she scans the area for signs of life or the store room they are looking for.

Rolls

Perception + guidance; looking around - (1d20+3+1d14)

(13) + (3) + 3 = 19

37 will exit the carriage and confer with their map.
Dec 17, 2024 1:30 pm
Brining the cart to a halt and turning off the power, the orange haired half-elf stretched and stood up at the controls. "Thanks. It got a lot easier once the elemental got to know me. Does not fight me as much anymore - or maybe I just understand things better now."

Instead of climbing down, he walks up on the roof of the carriage to check on Talon and look around. "Some kind of warehouse you said?" He watch Meepo fly around the carriage, mentally considering the magical variables required. Might be an interesting project if he could get Talon to fly.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+1)

(16) + 1 = 17

Vice scurries to the top of the cart and looks around, "Doesn't look as if anyone's been here, and there's no welcoming committee, that's a good sign right?"
Dec 17, 2024 2:25 pm
The kobold takes to the air, as the gloom above parts and the grey sun blinds Meepo. He doesn’t get a great aerial view before he has to return to the ground.

Laulalith meanwhile, stretches and takes a breath, catching the scent of sulphur in the air. As she looks through the opening, she catches flickering of orange light on the other side.

37 gains his bearings. The ‘path’ is a wide and shallow gully. To the west are rolling hills of melted stone. To the east, they’ve been following the cliffs. He is certain this must be the right place. The cliff walls form the outcropping and the opening Kalli described.

Tryne joins the rest of the cautious group in their assessment. He also catches the smell of sulfur in the air. As Vice joins them on the roof, Talon has eyes locked on the opening.
Dec 17, 2024 2:45 pm
"I believe our goal is this way," 37 states before heading towards the opening that was described to them.
