"You were gone. I looked in the lab, the warehouse… the lab... I thought you’d left already.", he looks confused for a moment, then shrugs it off as Meepo asks about the hereafter. "Cant say that I know. Dol Dorn takes care of us soldiers, I’m told. His mighty silver wings scoop you up and carry you away.", he stares off wistfully for a moment. "That sounds really nice. I hope I was a good enough guard.", he says at last. "So, you didn’t leave?"

"We did not," 37 replies as he joins them. He recounts the ghosts odd actions earlier in the night, watching Klaus for any reaction or sign of recognition.

Meepo watches Klause reaction to what 37 says as well.

"Oh you did the bestest of jobs. You even stayed what is it? ... Two years or so after your last pay. You've been worken for free. Were you under contract for a time? I bet your contract probably expired long ago too. I'll bet you'll have a wonderful place with Dol Dorn "

Meepo shakes his head no. "No I've been here. You think you may have been searching for Meepo in the ethereal plane?"

Torhak awakened to the conversation nearby, his ear twitched a bit and he could feel a bit of a sting. He shrugged it off and got up and started his morning routine, listening to the other converse with the ghost Klause. How their lives had gotten strange in just 24 hours. It would seem though that burying the soldiers had not done the trick to release them from this realm though.

"So, some other unfinished business then?" he said to Klause.

Laulalith joins the conversation with Klause. "It's common to experience terrifying illusions in the Grey. In fact, it happened to us on our journey here. I would have thought, however, that the dead would be immune to that effect, but apparently you're not. Interesting ..."

Addressing Torhak, she says. "I believe the professor's theory is that they can rest once we remove contents of the warehouse in the morning."

Tryne opens an eye to see people chatting, but since no one was screaming in pain, no signs of combat, and no one was asking him to take guard duty next, the orange haired half elf just closed his eyes and drifted back to sleep.

Talon sat nearby, closely watching those which moved around the area, alert as always.

Klause & The Professor
Klaus looks at 37 for a long moment in disbelieving silence.

"The numbskull never notices the missing time, Warforged.", the Professor emerges from the armour laying atop of the coach. "Frustrating as it is, even my mind cannot recall what happens when we go. Yet, I always reappear in the lab, in that cursed armour. Now that the armour has moved…", the spirit pauses to run his hand through the armour, before floating down to join the group, "As I hypothesized, I am bound to my work."

"We go missing? For how long?", Klause whispers, clearly shaken.

"Well, first you warn your captain of intruders, and prepare to attack. Then you dissapear." Vice says sleepily

Meepo shrugs. "Im not sure if you showed up on the last watch or not but I havent seen you since we went to bed. That was many hours ago."
OOC:
Question is the professor's body out of the armor right now? Is the professor and Klause ones that we buried I am assuming.

Klause & The Professor
Klaus looks around,"I’m sorry if I tried to run you through again…", Klause says.

The Professor seems far more interested, "That sounds like our last moments on the material plane. However, there were no intruders that day. Yet, Klause saw you, yes?", the spectre’s was abuzz with thoughts. He looks expectantly at the huge doors. "Fascinating. We remain aware. That is promising."

OOC:
The Professor is out of the armour now. He reappeared there, but came out of it. Yes, you buried them both, as well as the others.

Vice yawns before replying, "Not sure if he saw 'us' or some figment of his imagination or something from a memory past. But he did accuse us of stealing everythin', and killing your fellow soldiers. Which I take offense to, because we only technicallydid o.e of those things." he says with a smirk.

The Professor
The Professor looks to the sleepy gnome, "I noticed that no one has mentioned me. I presume no one saw.", he says disappointingly.

"I looked in the lab, but didn't find anything. In retrospect, I should have looked in the armour."
Jan 9, 2025 12:41 pm
"Quite the mystery" Torhak said, continuing to make himself ready for the day. "Are we going to travel back today or try to solve this? Could it be that the Mournland itself is the issue, and that by removing this equipment they will be released?"
Jan 9, 2025 3:30 pm
"I could not see you from where I stood near the doors, Professor," 37 says apologetically. "However... it seems something about the incident has set your mind to work, and I am curious as to what?"

Turning to face Torhak 37 replies, "The Mournland is absolutely the issue, and one I don't have the first notion how to fix... but the land clearly needs healing, and that undertaking may prove impossible. As to the smaller, more immediate issue regarding our new friends... hopefully removing the supplies will fix their issue."

With that, he turns back to the specter of the Professor, eager to hear what the man -- er, ghost -- was thinking.

Meepo looks to the professor. "I had not seen you either since before Meepo went to bed. What do you usually do at night? No one saw what?"

The Professor
Answering Torhak, the professor says, "I would suggest you 'stay the course', as it were, Mr. Minotaur. I can assure you, Klause and I have tried every other method to leave on our own."

Turning to address 37, the Professor replies, "I must admit, my curiosity as to the blind spot in my own missing time has me a little jealous of my clumsy colleague. Yet, the knowledge that we somehow retain ourselves in some form during these episodes, is encouraging.", he pauses as 37 makes mention of the Mournland, "I know very little of such powerful magic, let alone how to 'fix' it. My specialty is in elemental powered devices. I do, however, agree with you Mr. Warforged. I wish to have this placed emptied to confirm whether we may in fact be permitted to leave, once you have done so."

"I don't think our employer will like it if we deliver a haunted suit of armor. Or maybe they will? Especially if the professor can help finish it." Vice has so many more questions, mostly non-relevant, so has eats some rations while he waits for the ghost response.

The Professor ponders Vice's comment for a long while, "Does the effects of the cataclysm extend beyond Cyre's borders?"
