OOC:
I want to write a proper response to the visions, but I won't have time for that before tonight. But Lali can give you guidance and she has Mending if that can help us here.

Meepo's ears perks up when 37 mentions additional carts. He scans the area at the other carts, if any of them look like the one in his vision, then scans for any dragons, people or dangers to include movement in the water that doesn't look natural.

You could each roll separate, or Tryne can roll with advantage.
OOC:
Rather not steal the spotlight from Tryne, fixing things is his jam, so I will just provide advantage :)

Tryne looks intently at the wheel - a few places would need a mending to repair the cracks. Multi tool in in hand, constantly flipping the tool to what he needs, a hammer, a wrench, a pry bar.

When Torhak offers to help, "Thanks. Could definitely use some muscle on this. Push up here to release the weight on the wheel while I try to straighten it out."
OOC:

Tryne is an artificer - I think the roll should be Intelligence - but can be Dex if you think that is more appropriate.

Below is Dex - Int would be +2 more. Magic multi tool give any bonus :)

Laulalith is lost in thought while the others start on the repairs. She stares into the rolling grey mist and tries to make sense of the vision. After a while, she speaks up while she continues to stare into the grey wall behind them. "Last time, the vision seemed like a very deliberate attempt at murdering us. It was all very urgent and dangerous. Compelling us to act rashly and self-destructively. I, for one, was just about to jump from the cart while it was moving at high speed." She pauses before continuing. "This time it was different. It felt like a premonition. Like a glimpse of something yet to come." She shrugs and fidgets absentmindedly with the sliver amulet on her necklace. "But I wouldn't trust this vision any more than the other one. For all we know, this could be just like the vision with the rail: An attempt to derail us and bring us into peril. After all, things are seldom what they appear." While she says it, she activates the medallion's magic and lets it change her appearance, so she once again looks like Kalli.

With a wave of her hand, she dismisses the illusion again and turns to the real Kalli. "You were in my vision. We had reached a dry alcove in the rocks above the swamp." She tries to think back to recall precisely what the place had looked like and what had been said. "You were sad, Kalli. Sad that we didn't find your companions, I believe. But there was also something else. We had wasted time by coming there, and now all hope seemed lost. I felt regret and despair, and I knew that we had wasted time that we couldn't afford to loose." The she describes the place to Kalli to the best of her ability in the hope that the scavenger will be able to recognise it and make sense of her vision.

Insight: Was that vision really a premonition? - Not expecting an answer :) - (1d20)

Tryne decides on brain instead of brawn and with Torhak’s, 37 and Meepo’s help finding parts and the half-elf’ expertise, they get the cart fixed in no time at all. Talon shows her characteristic indifference to his excellent work. Good as new, they are ready to proceed into the miry swamp.

As they all discuss their individual visions, Kalli listens intently to Laulalith’s account.

After a moment she responds, "That sounds exactly like our hideout. It is off the main trail.", she adds hesitantly, "It adds a few hours to our search… and if they are in danger…", her voice trails off as she looks ahead to the swampy forest.

Kalli turns back and looks at the elf intently, "Are you sure?", she asks finally.
OOC:
Intelligence is absolutely fine!
Apr 2, 2025 6:35 pm
"Well, there can be no doubt that I saw your hideout in the vision. How else would I have been able to describe it to you?" She pauses for a moment after the rhetorical question before continuing. "The question, naturally, is whether the vision can be trusted." She raises an eyebrow and looks around at her companions. "Most of you have more experience passing through the mists than I do. Do you know of any cases where the visions were truthful?"

She gazes thoughtfully at the mists behind them, and continues without waiting for a response to her question. "It certainly felt different this time... not as... invasive. And, in retrospect, I do feel that I had some measure of control this time." She takes a deep breath and turns to look directly at Kalli. "Yes. I do trust the premonition. I believe we'll find nothing in that rocky cave. Nothing but regret and despair at least."

"But does that even change anything? Do we have anywhere else to look? Clearly, we cannot search at random. Besides, it would be very understandable if the rest of you chose to mistrust my trust in this premonition."

Arcana + guidance, more info on the vision? - (1d20+4+1d4)

(10) + (3) + 4 = 17

Laulalith takes a moment to reflect further on the vision. She had heard rumours and speculation of the nature of mists. As House Phiarlan are known for there ability to gather information. One such theory makes a little more sense from first hand experience. One in particular was that the faces in the mists are the spirits of the dead scoured from the country of Cyre on the Day of Mourning. The randomness of the experiences is often considered to be due to the dead trying to connect with the living. The likelihood of encountering the same spirit was next to impossible and the message would likely never be the same. An angry, vengeful spirit could seek to cause harm. While a friendly one may provide guidance. Two travellers may not even encounter the same spirit at the same time. If this theory is true, the question of trust is difficult. The decision whether to trust the dead is always a precarious once.

Armed with this insight, Laulalith felt no treachery in her vision.

"I don't know, my vision combined my past and present. So it's hard to say. But if there's a chance someone up there is trying to help us . . . we should take it right?" Vice says, trying to be encouraging.
Apr 2, 2025 7:56 pm
"If you will allow me to be the pragmatist..." 37 interjects, having listened quietly to the discussion.

"Whether the vision was true or not is of less importance than initial impressions may suggest. If your crew is at their fallback location, they are likely more safe than just out on the roads. Even if they're out of supplies, you can survive a few weeks without food. Water would be all they truly need, and even then they would have roughly three days. However... if they aren't there, it's likely due to injury or hazard, in which case time is a much larger concern.

If you know where they were supposedly headed, we should be able to determine the route they would take from that location to reach the fallback spot. I advocate for following that path towards their original destination."

Kalli takes a deep breath, and slowly releases it before she responds to 37. "I can't say who, but let's just say we heard 'rumours' a creation forge that survived the Day of Mourning is in Eston. We were able to confirm this is true.", she says slowly.

"As you could imagine, this is a closely guarded secret. No one outside of the Grey Dogs knows about it.", she hesitates again with a long pause. "The mists showed me a vision of my friends Weylin and Virtue entering the forge. If the vision is true, they actually found it. It's honestly a terrifying discovery.", she locks eyes with 37, knowing full well what a discovery like this could mean to those that wish to resume production of the warforged.
Apr 2, 2025 9:25 pm
Vice takes a deep breath, mimicking Kalli "Who is Weylin? And how do you know Virtue? She was in my vision! Is she here? is she safe? How long were you planning to hide a forge? What were the Grey Dogs planning to do with it?" then he slowly releases his breath

Kalli isn't startled by Vice's outburst, quite the opposite. She was clearly expecting such a response. That is until he asks about Virtue. "Well, Weylin is one of our best scavengers. Virtue I met in Korranberg in Zilargo. She was looking for work and joined us a few weeks back. Mostly working out of there. This was her first real job in the Grey. I hope she's safe. She joined the crew while Titaness was in town. They left as quick as they could. Clearly, you know her?"

"As for the forge... we don't have a plan. Word is, the Lord of Blades already has one of his own somewhere on the Glass Plateau. Then there's Merrix d'Cannith.", she looks again at 37, "He can never know about this."
Apr 2, 2025 11:10 pm
Wrapping up repairs on the wheel, "I don't know anything about this forge, but its big right? So even if you do find one out here, its not something that could easily be moved and I can't image anyone trying to run one inside of the Grey. You would think something like that would attract attention if someone tried to start it up. Has anyone ever tried to setup a permanent base in here?"
Apr 3, 2025 1:20 am
"Clearly?! We were an act 'Virtue and Vice'. I have t seen her since, . . . since we left the circus. We have to find them, she was in danger in my vision! From Tarin!" he starts pacing, before saying to no one in particular, "Okay, okay, what's first? Any other visions we need to potentially deal with?
Apr 3, 2025 11:25 am
Tryne shakes his head, "I assumed my vision was just to get us to wreck the coach again. We were in the swamp and suddenly Talon leaped off of the coach into the swamp where a bunch of swamp creatures ambushed her. I swerved the coach to go get her, that's what wrecked the wheel. I didn't see anything like the things you guys are mentioning."

He thought for a moment, "Maybe I need to come up with some kind of lock mechanism on the coach for her. She almost fell off when we hit the side of the bridge and if she might leap off on her own. Well... I'll have to think about it."
Apr 3, 2025 1:04 pm
"I'm no artificer, but maybe next time we also lash the wheel so you can't turn it while we traverse the wall?" Torhak said not sure if it would be a good idea or not.
OOC:
I as a player am not sure if the coach has a 'wheel' or whether it's more like reigns?

"Talk of a Creation Forge concerns me. My own vision involved a Titan Forge. I don't..."

The warforged falls silent, his gaze shifting off into the Mournland as if searching for something.

I think there's enough info in those visions to patch together a timeline of past and future events. Do you want to try that? If so, do you want to do it IC or OoC?

OOC:
I pictured it sort of like an aircraft flight yoke, just a lot bigger to give leverage. (Khorvaire has not invented power steering yet :P )

Not quite the same as a steering wheel, but with a similar function.

PS - I'll catch up on all the posts in couple hours. There's been a lot of great input/speculation here!
